So yes, our experience is that an individual can be diagnosed with both ADHD and then later with Asperger's. *** True some, many actually, do go that route and take those paths. My son is 17 next week, and he was first diagnosed ADHD at an EARLY age, in preschool. When we found out about his Asperger diagnosis ate age ten, we were also told that he has ADHD as well. We always knew that the ADHD existed and ALWAYS knew he had more than that, but we did not understand what it was. Of course we knew all the problems he had, but it was nice to get a "label" as then we had a reason and more information about his disorders that we could read about and with which we would get services for him.
