Isaac started this behavior right after we started Valtrex despite

being on diflucan. I have been increasing his OoO (I use it

transdermally) and starting giving him biotin and it seems to be

helping.

You may need to return to a prescription anti-fungal

while doing Valtrex.

Subject: Desperately

needing advice.

Help! I really need advice.

My 5 yr old asd son, was on prescription anti-fungals for quite a while.

He started with Nystatin, then diflucan, Sporonax, and a double dose of

diflucan. Then, about a month ago, went on valtrex.

To try to keep the yeast from flaring up, I've been giving him a

saccromyses boulardii 3x a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday

morning) and he's been getting about 3 drops of GSE on the other

mornings. And at night before bed, he gets 2 candex. Plus, he gets a

pro-biotic everyday.

The night before last, my husband took him to the lake. I talked to him

this morning, and he said that yesterday he spent a long time sitting

on a bench at the park giggling, he hasn't doen that since his first

round of Nystatin. And last night, he woke up at 3:00am and was up for

hours- lately his sleep has been improving. This sounds to me like his

yeast is flaring up, and I really don't want it to get out of control.

My husband says that he hasn't eaten anything different, and he says

that he's been giving him all of his supplements on schedule.

Any advice at all would be so much appreciated.

Thanks.

Amber.

I wish I had an auto reply button that said that you should be on diflucan or

nizoral when

you are using Valtrex. If not, you're asking for a yeast flare up in my

opinion. The

naturals just don't do the job when you are working the antiviral angle. I

would get on

Diflucan or Nizoral asap.

The good news is if you have these flares, it likely means you are on the right

track with

Valtrex.

That's what I was thinking, but my DAN seems to think to do them one at a time.

That's why we did all of the different prescription anti-fungals, including the double dose of diflucan- then he said to stop the double dose of diflucan because we weren't seeing any more results from it. So, we stopped that prescription before it was finished and started the valtrex. It was my DAN who said to give the saccromyses 3x a week to keep the yeast at bay. It was me who added the GSE on the non-saccromyses days, and the candex.

Should I put my son back on diflucan while taking valtrex? He's taken so much diflucan lately. I just recently (in the last couple of days) started giving him 1/2 of a 150 mg capsule of milk thistle in the mornings.

Thanks, everyone.

I can't judge your DAN but some DANs take things real slow -- "one at a time". Some tell you to take natural stuff and not prescriptions -- then test -- then come back to them -- pay more money -- then finally give you the prescription stuff. You are the general of your child's war against ASD. Suggest you take control of your child's war and not the DAN. If the DAN is not doing what he should do then find another.Amber Eisler <eislerfamily@...> wrote: That's what I was
