If you watch the film you can see some similarities, which may explain why many with ASD (especially amongst the older generation, but I know a young man aged 24 this has happened to) have been misdx'd as schizophrenic. *************************** Exactly . I have the movie also and have watched it. However, the person with schizophrenia, has hallucinations, and imagines things. That is the biggest difference, I believe. They have a mental illness. Aspergers is a neurological condition. Anyway, yes, too bad that many get these confused, and doctors much also when they diagnosis as well. I know that doctors have asked my son if he hears voices and see things that are not there. That is a way to rule out other disorders. My son does not, so I was always sure he is not schizophrenic. in IL
