Maybe I should get some gatorade then, I hate to admit it but I am terrible about drinking water. I am trying but it makes me nautious so I don't have much motivation to drink more of it.

If you are on treatment and are having problems drinking then you should drink it , but I would suggest trying the fierce melon flavor . It is a mellow flavor and not very strong . And if that flavor doesnt work they have tons to chose from .

I know lots of ppl DO drink gatoraid but it has a higher sugar content and sugar molecules are too large to pass from the stomach into the blood system. It has to be digested and therefore is NOT your best bang for your buck as far as hydration is concerned. I have tried to explain this several times but we have new ppl who come along all the time so I will explain it again... For rapid hydration, 'some' fluids can cross over the barrier ( osmosis) directly into the blood which has an osmolity of around 250. Gatoriad has an osmolity of between 280-320 so it is NOT one of the products that CAN cross through the membrane and therefor has to be digested before it can release its electrolytes. Unfortunately with being digested, there really isnt much in the way of electrolytes left to help you so all you are getting besides the water in it is a load of sugar,, and we know that sugar is really really bad for our livers and can in essence from what I

have read, it can or may contribute to a failed tx and can bring on diabetes. Fresh fruit juice mixed with half water will help to rehydrate you quicker or a product like pedialyte, or another product called lowOz. LowOz is a product that some families are sending to the soldiers in IRAQ and they have been using it in the field hosp for rehydration as it works really quickly. They also are sending it out with the soldiers in the field... but since we are here,, pedialyte IS a good choice,, and in my opinion, gatoraide is not as besides the sugar content, some flavors also have food coloring and other junk in it. But I guess if you can't stand just water or fruit juice watered down , or water with fresh lemon squeezed into it,, well its better than nothing,, but in my opinion, hardly.... its chocked full of preservatives and other chemicals that might not be good for the liver Just my 2 cents,,, and IF you drink gatoraid,, Im not gonna say more,, I

just think you all should know about these things.Ally <4thMoon@...> wrote: Maybe I should get some gatorade then, I hate to admit it but I am terrible about drinking water. Well I still want to argue with you on this one Jackie .... Gatorade is a rapid hydrating drink , it's osmosis is just as good as the lowoz .That is why so many athletes drink it .

well its ok if you wanna aruge with me on it,, just compare the labels and see what the osmolity number is,, gatoraid is higher than 250 and lowoz is 220... I dont make the stats honey,, honestly,, I dont,, elizabethnv1 <elizabethnv1@...> wrote: Well I still want to argue with you on this one Jackie .... Most athletes are PAID consumers of it too sweetie,, Gosh I just dont like to argue about this, but I know that gatoraid's osmolity is NOT the same as blood which is 250, its higher,, at least 280.. and athletes dont know about lowoz either because its NOT advertized like gatoraid is... OK,,, thats all Im gonna say,, every person has to make up their own mind love you liz!elizabethnv1 <elizabethnv1@...> wrote: Well I still want to argue with you on this

well I suppose its probably alright,, but the deal with all those things is that they are chocked full of preservatives and food colorings, food additives LOTS of CHEMICALS and phoney food items etc,, and everything has to be cleared through your liver,, so anything that you put in to your body with chemicals WILL stress out your liver,,, but in small amounts,, its probably ok..
