If they try to tell you they dont have one tell them that they are legally required to bring one out of district for the IEP ** Well, I have had an Autism Specialist come to observe my son in the past and also give ideas for his classroom structure and care. The person was pretty good, but in my opinion had much more experience with a child with full Autism. My son is high functioning and Aspergers and so I was not completely confident that their district " Autism Sepcialist" was really someone that I felt comfortable with exactly, long story.
