Guest guest
Take the Dad back to court, that is advise number one. If the dad has a job, he should be paying for the child support and insurance as mandated. IF you are going to check SSI, some children with AS and Autism and even ADHD qualify. However, there are many factors that they look at, and you must have a medical record written up by a doctor that he has gone to , to get on the assistance. Your child nor you can have more than 2000$ savings money in a bank account. They look at a few things. It is worth a try. Be aware that MANY people get turned down the FIURST TRY, I hear that almost all do the first time, so apply again and again. Good luck. :__) in IL :_) SSI. Does anyone know if it possible for someone with AS to get on SSI??? I really don't know what to do...to cover him under my insurance at work would cost $400 per month. My work insurance will not pay for counseling visits. Counseling is a big must for my son. I would also have to pay $100 co-pay per month on his meds. Plus co-pays for Dr visits. His father is court ordered to provide his medical insurance, but doesn't do it. On the other hand, he is also court ordered to pay childsupport and doesn't do that either.Sorry to have written so much......any ideas?????
