Guest guest
I'm glad they are doing bacterial and fungal testing. I believe the answers will be in there. I would actually try Nizoral since you haven't tried it and maybe your doc will Rx. Flagyl or something commonly used safely in our kids for bacteria and maybe you'll hit the gain again that way. I have some strong beliefs about bacteria's effect in autism, so I would not be suprised if it's actually a bacterial issue. I would love for a doc to do some trials of Valtrex, Nizoral, and Flagyl.... that would be a wonderful trial. - Stan > > hi, all. i've read stan's posts on his preferred anti-fungals, > diflucan and nizoral. our DAN will give us a prescription for an > anti-fungal. we are on day 11 of valtrex with no significant > changes. my son is currently taking sac boularrdi 2x/day, therbiotic > complete 2x/day, transfer factor and monolaurin. > > about 2 years ago we once saw a great response from nystatin. it > lasted about a week only. it was the first time we had hope that > noah was still " in there " and could recover. we were never able to > replicate the result in subsequent trials of nystatin. interstingly > and importantly, i think, the first round of nystatin followed 10 > days of antibiotics and perhaps he had all the gains because of the > nystatin/antibiotic combination. anyhow, after not being able to see > anymore gains with nystatin, we tried difulcan, with no visible > results (about 1 and 1/2 years ago). > > So, my question is: which prescription anti-fungal? should we try > nystatin first since we once had good results, albeit following a > course of antibiotics? is noah maybe a kids whose yeast doesn't > react to diflucan? why chose nizoral over diflucan? we will be > taking tests for yeast in the next couple of days (in the mail now). > we won't start anything new until we take the test. should we do > nothing until we get the test results back? or go ahead and start > now? only changes so far on day 11 of valtrex: somewhat less > stimming, same language, less eye contact, increase in appetite > (which is needed!), and no rashes, fever, etc. or, should we do > nothing until we see definite signs of yeast (or are these signs of > yeast)? Guest guest
Hi, I'm new to this board and will be trying Valtrex soon, I hope. This week my son will start Flagyl and Nizoral. He has very high clostrida that we weren't able to combat with probiotics. I use Dr. Neubrander and perhaps I can report back to you to let you know how the Valtrex/Nizoral/Flagyl works on my son. My question is this - Is is safe to use all three at the same time? Also, I'd like to start SCD asap. Any recommendations as to what order I should try each of these treatments? Stan - I've spent all day reading your posts. Thank you so much for the time you have spent helping us. I cried when I saw your son's video. I don't know why, but I really believe that if I could get my son's clostrida (highest Dr. N has ever seen!) down along with Valtrex, it might be the key to his recovery. And I'm so exicted to try it! Thanks again, Lori G. > > > > hi, all. i've read stan's posts on his preferred anti-fungals, > > diflucan and nizoral. our DAN will give us a prescription for an > > anti-fungal. we are on day 11 of valtrex with no significant > > changes. my son is currently taking sac boularrdi 2x/day, therbiotic > > complete 2x/day, transfer factor and monolaurin. > > > > about 2 years ago we once saw a great response from nystatin. it > > lasted about a week only. it was the first time we had hope that > > noah was still " in there " and could recover. we were never able to > > replicate the result in subsequent trials of nystatin. interstingly > > and importantly, i think, the first round of nystatin followed 10 > > days of antibiotics and perhaps he had all the gains because of the > > nystatin/antibiotic combination. anyhow, after not being able to see > > anymore gains with nystatin, we tried difulcan, with no visible > > results (about 1 and 1/2 years ago). > > > > So, my question is: which prescription anti-fungal? should we try > > nystatin first since we once had good results, albeit following a > > course of antibiotics? is noah maybe a kids whose yeast doesn't > > react to diflucan? why chose nizoral over diflucan? we will be > > taking tests for yeast in the next couple of days (in the mail now). > > we won't start anything new until we take the test. should we do > > nothing until we get the test results back? or go ahead and start > > now? only changes so far on day 11 of valtrex: somewhat less > > stimming, same language, less eye contact, increase in appetite > > (which is needed!), and no rashes, fever, etc. or, should we do > > nothing until we see definite signs of yeast (or are these signs of > > yeast)? Guest guest
I would be very interested in hearing how the three work together for your child. The good news in seeing high levels of anything like that is you generally see improvement when it is treated.
