Yes, I've heard of this Marshall Protocol, too! I'd be very interested

in your thinking, Stan, especially as it relates to our spectrum

children's issues.

These websites are not very accessible to me. I can't spend time reading

through

hundreds of posts in a forum to understand what it's about. (I know... funny

that I'm

saying that).

Is there a site that has a direct explanation? Some overview on a website?

Probably the MP in the simplest terms (if there are any) would be found here Essential Information about the Marshall Protocol "...

Dr. Marshall has found new evidence that CFS patientssuffer an

underlying condition also present in Sarcoidosis, ChronicLyme Disease,

Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Crohn's, and otherauto-immune disorders. The

"common denominator" identified by Dr. Marshall isthe presence of tiny,

CWD bacterial pathogens living cozily andreplicating inside the very

white blood cells that are supposed toeradicate them. Safely

sequestered in the body's immune cells, theseminute pathogens trigger

an inflammatory Th1 immune response that isself-perpetuating and

accounts for both the symptoms patients sufferand the chronic, cyclical

nature of their complaints. The

initial discovery of these intracellular pathogensin the macrophages of

Sarcoidosis patients was made possible byadvanced microscopy

techniques. Fortunately, Dr. Marshall's researchhas yielded a more

practical diagnostic tool for clinical use. Whiteblood cells

parasitized by these tiny microbes assume a novel function:they

energetically convert the precursor vitamin, 25-D, into the

activehormone 1,25-D, at levels well in excess of the body's

requirements." * Elevated 1,25-D. Elevated levels of 1,25-D - the active hormone metabolized from Vitamin D - are a defining characteristic of Th1 disease. * In healthy people, Vitamin D (25-D) is converted to 1,25-D in the kidneys, where the levels are regulated to match the body's needs. * In people with Th1 disease, infected white blood cells convert 25-D to 1,25-D independently of the kidneys, causing levels to rise above what the body requires. * Elevated 1,25-D makes it easier for the bacteria to move in and out of cells, protecting them from the immune system. As more bacteria are able to parasitize white blood cells, they in turn begin pumping out still more 1,25-D. This vicious cycle largely accounts for the chronic nature of our illnesses. * Elevated 1,25-D also has direct adverse effects on well-being, and is capable of causing a truly astonishing variety of symptoms in its own right. Also:Sweden,

one of the countries with the least sunshine, is having arecent surge

in autism. Milk is not routinely supplemented with vitaminD there and

they are just starting to put it in infant formulas. Granted, the subject and research is complex but it deserves the time and attention given to it. gmom(I

take MB-12 because I am low in it. I also have high 25-D and

1,25-Dlevels and I have had "Th1" type diseases for many years.)
