Guest guest
Hi , I do not believe acyclovir or OLE have B6 in them. I don't have a bottle of virastop, so I can't speak about htat. This could be a healing regression or it could be fungus and bacteria. We typically suggest folks being on an antifungal with your antiviral approach since antivirals typically kickup a lot of fungus. - Stan > > My five year old daughter started acyclovir on Saturday. Guest guest
, Wanted to let you know that I was recently at the Autism One conference and learned that ViraStop has protease which can raise glutamate levels and cause some kids to become more excitable and stimmy. Maybe take a break from the Vira Stop and see if the stims reduce any. We stopped giving our son all enzymes that contain protease for a while. His stimming did reduce (mostly verbal), but I wasn't sure if was a big enough reduction to say for sure that the protease was the problem. Now we give them sometime when he has dietary infractions and are thinking of adding the vira stop back eventually. Guest guest
Thanks This was so helpful to me. We have seen this 'excitability'and verbal stims and had tried cutting all sorts of things and adding lots of calming things to no avail. I cut out Virastop completely yesterday when I read your post - even today he is improving - he could sit down to watch TV tonight. Previously he had to jump continuously and just could not sit still. Interestingly, this excitability effect of Virastop only seemed to happen once we started Valtrex. If they said anything further about this at Autism One would be interested to hear it. Thanks again Gail > > , > > Wanted to let you know that I was recently at the Autism One conference and > learned that ViraStop has protease which can raise glutamate levels and > cause some kids to become more excitable and stimmy. Guest guest
Nickie, Thank you so much for your post. It very well could have been the Virastop,at least in part, as my daughter's stims/irritability date back to around the time we started it. We eliminated it after I read your post. However, she is still reacting badly to the acyclovir, so I can't see any realy noticiable improvement for stopping the virastop. Still, it's good to have identified one of the possible culprits. > > , > > Wanted to let you know that I was recently at the Autism One conference and > learned that ViraStop has protease which can raise glutamate levels and > cause some kids to become more excitable and stimmy. Guest guest
Virastop also has a fermented soy component, Nattokinase, that is not well tolerated here. > > > > , > > > > Wanted to let you know that I was recently at the Autism One > conference and > > learned that ViraStop has protease which can raise glutamate levels > and > > cause some kids to become more excitable and stimmy.
