Guest guest
I'm finding natural environment training easier than sitting at the table. It has been especially effective for manding. We go to a playground with a lot of good equipment. Every time heads toward a piece of equipment, I ask him, " What do you want to do? " I also block his progress so he has to answer me before he can do the activity. (Swing, slide, climb ladder, cross bridge, hang on bars). " What are some things we played on today? " " What color is this swing " " What am I doing? " , " What are you doing? " . " Who is this swing for? " (babies) We focus on the play items, we don't do plants or sky or any of the other environmental things. When getting a snack I always have many choices available and we have trials through the whole procedure. Juice or soda pop? What kind of juice? What color is this juice? What do we need? (a glass). What should I do? (pour the juice or pour it). Pretzls or chips? What do we need? (a bowl). Where should we bring it? (the table). I knew comprehension was good when he said we should bring the snack to the sofa. If we're going to the swimming pool I ask " What do we need for the swimming pool? " " What should we pack in your bag? " , " Do we have everything? " What should we do? (get in the car) " Where are we? " (at the pool) NET has worked best when we focus on words associated with an activity that's part of our routine. We go to the park a couple times a week. Snack is every day and swimming is every Saturday. Best regards
