Guest guest
Geri, The directions come in each enclosed redipen box..when you're done mixing it together you make sure they're aren't any bubbles...then you set the dose, put the needle in and then push. You leave it in for 5 seconds, it should all be dispensed by then. That happened to my husband his 3rd shot, it went across the kitchen table, so we had to use another pen and start all over again, it's guranteed you didn't get the correct amount. Make sure you phone your doctor, they'll probably tell you to wait until your next shot is due. us4heavenbound@... wrote: Wow that was strange...I followed the directions, and couldnt get the dang dosing thing to turn correctly. It would pull out then not turn. I finally got it and stuck it in and pushed down and counted the 5 secs took it out and it was shooting all over..I quickly stuck it back in..I knwo but I didnt want to waste it...Does anyone use these?? How do you turn the thing and how long do you leave it in for...gee I dont know if I am strong enough to use them..LOL..geri All-new - Fire up a more powerful email and get things done faster. Had a few misfires, but they involved difficulty turning the dose knob. To clarify the "5 second rule", you're supposed to leave it in 5 seconds AFTER you've plunged it all the way down. Make sure you're keeping the needle in "to the hilt" for the full time. Also, make sure you've screwed in the needle before you withdraw the knob and turn it.It helps to have someone (or the instructions) there for the first few weeks, since your mind might not be working perfectly. Guest guest
I use a redi-pen with my insulin, at first it was a little tricky. I was like what the heck. But I sat down reread the directions and it was a go. Actually my insulin and my Byetta come in a redi-pen form. So much better than all that mixing, drawing up the dosage, expelling the air bubble. Just screw the needle on and put the top on the amount of insulin units needed and you are good to go. Now on the Byetta it is a little different as you have to twist the cap to the arrows stop, and then pull out and then twist till it says 5 mcg or 10 mcg what ever the script is. I hope this helps Geri as like I said at first it was confusing but had it down in no time. If my weary mind remembers when I was on the pegasys, I just clicked and shot. But dang that was back in Jan.
