Guest guest
When we did all the mark up tests years ago I believe it was Immuno Lab. (sp) We checked for yeast and found my son had 4 yeast infections. But at the same time they had also run a culture or something that acutely showed what was the best Rx to use for his particular yeast issues. Neat thing It generated and scored all the Antifungals, and which one was more likely to be the greater combatin.. In his case it was Nystatin for all 4 ranges. Long story short we went on to treat and it all worked out. Kenny v > > Hi all. Guest guest
We used the s. boulardii with the Valtrex for about a month, then did the diflucan, then nystatin for 2 days, then s.boulardii for 2 weeks, now the Yeast Aid. All while on Valtrex. The current plan is Yeast Aid for 1 month, then s.boulardii again for 6-8 weeks and run another OATS test. We haven't done anything directly for bacterial. > > > > Hi all. Guest guest
We did the Genovations genomic detox test. The Physician's copy of the test gives a list of the drugs that are metabolized by each " problem " enzyme. A polymorphism at CYP2C19 means trouble metabolizing diflucan, nizoral, voriconazole (among other drugs). A polymorphism at CYP3A4 means trouble metabolising clotrimazole, sporonox, nizoral, diflucan, miconazole, voriconazole (among other drugs). I can't say about other enzymes that doesn't have polymorphisms for, because those drug lists aren't included if she doesn't have a problem with that enzyme. But I can say that polymorphisms with the two enzymes listed can affect metabolism of anti-fungals, per Genovations. <BR> > > & gt;<BR> > > & gt; Hi all. & nbsp; I've been off-list for a few months, but I wanted > >to pop <BR> > > & gt; back on and tell a little story for the archives.<BR> > > & gt; <BR> > > & gt; The weekend of the DC DAN! conference I was visiting family out > >of <BR> > > & gt; state. & nbsp; My daughter's s. boulardii (her only yeast fighter) > >was <BR> > >left <BR> > > & gt; out overnight and there was no replacement within 50 > >miles. & nbsp; <BR> > > & gt; Believing she needed to be on something stronger anyway, I had a > ><BR> > >doc <BR> > > & gt; in the family write a script for Diflucan.<BR> > > & gt; <BR> > > & gt; Within an hour and a half, my 2.5 year old pooped over 2 feet > ><BR> > >worth <BR> > > & gt; of poop. & nbsp; I was elated! & nbsp; But then she seemed to > >regress, <BR> > > & gt; particularly with regard to learning. & nbsp; She always wants to > >learn <BR> > >and <BR> > > & gt; suddenly she wasn't asking any questions. & nbsp; I wrote it off > >to die-<BR> > >off.<BR> > > & gt; <BR> > > & gt; Three weeks later, she still seemed regressed and a light- bulb > ><BR> > >went <BR> > > & gt; off. & nbsp; 's yeast was confirmed by a stool test (and her > >urine <BR> > > & gt; MAP), but they hadn't been able to culture the yeast. & nbsp; I > >got the <BR> > > & gt; results of my own stool test back and, hmm, my own yeast is <BR> > > & gt; resistant to Diflucan.<BR> > > & gt; <BR> > > & gt; got thrush at 7 weeks when I was still breast > >feeding. & nbsp; It <BR> > > & gt; seemed quite possible to me that she has the same strain. & nbsp; > >I <BR> > >stopped <BR> > > & gt; the diflucan and added in some old compounded Nystatin. & nbsp; > >After two <BR> > > & gt; doses and less than 24 hours, was more her old self and > >was <BR> > > & gt; teaching herself how to spell.<BR> > > & gt; <BR> > > & gt; We went to see Dr. Usman this past week and she first thought > ><BR> > > <BR> > > & gt; should take Sporanox instead, but then she checked 's <BR> > >genetic <BR> > > & gt; results and doesn't clear ANY of the prescription > >anti-<BR> > > & gt; fungals well. & nbsp; They all interfere with her > >detox/methylation <BR> > > & gt; system. & nbsp; So Usman put her on Yeast Aid by Kirkman (a mix of > ><BR> > >natural <BR> > > & gt; anti-fungals) and she has been doing well on that for the last > ><BR> > > & gt; week. & nbsp; I am taking it as well.<BR> > > & gt; <BR> > > & gt; To me it is another lesson how very individual our kids > >are. & nbsp; <BR> > > & gt; Diflucan is great and I wish it worked for Rach, but it didn't > >and <BR> > >I <BR> > > & gt; couldn't tell die off from a flare. & nbsp; Luckily, things are > >smooth <BR> > > & gt; now. & nbsp; <BR> > > & gt; <BR> > > & gt; I hope to see some of you at A1.<BR> > > & gt; <BR> > > & gt; Dawn<BR> > ><BR> > >we just had one of those giant poops too after 2 days of not going > ><BR> > >and are going through a regression too about 3 days following the > ><BR> > >poop. i was wondering this same thing about resistance, as it is our > ><BR> > >second go around of diflucan so 1 month and now about 1.5 weeks when > ><BR> > >this happened. our doc wants us to do the s.boulardii next so i am > ><BR> > >debating on doing it sooner rather than finishing the diflucan. i > ><BR> > >posted a question for stan on doing the s.boulardii with the valtrex > ><BR> > >instead as we are about to start it soon. he replied that there was > ><BR> > >no files of anyone using it but there was a discussion wether <BR> > >s.boulardi may have some effect on virals. so it leaves me very <BR> > >confused and not sure what the next step will be. how long were you > ><BR> > >on the s.b.? we had also been on nystatin with some die offs and we > ><BR> > >had some die offs with diflucan too. just a thought maybe the giant > ><BR> > >b.m cleared the tract enough for a bacterial infection to grow, have > ><BR> > >you done any bacterial fighters? we haven't... any input would be > ><BR> > >appreciated...thanks<BR> > > & gt;<BR> > ><BR> > ><BR> > ><BR> > ><BR> > > > > > > > ><!-- |**|begin egp html banner|**| --> > > > > <br><br> > > <div style= " width:500px; text-align:right; margin-bottom:1px; > >color:#909090; " > > > <tt>
Guest guest
Down, Can you share with us what your daughter's genetic doesn't clear ANY of the prescription anti- fungals well. Thank you Betty ------------------------------------------------------ Message 11 From: " dawnrinchicago " drochlen@... Date: Sun May 21, 2006 1:33pm(PDT) Subject: Diflucan-resistant yeast Hi all. I've been off-list for a few months, but I wanted to pop back on and tell a little story for the archives. The weekend of the DC DAN! conference I was visiting family out of state. My daughter's s. boulardii (her only yeast fighter) was left out overnight and there was no replacement within 50 miles. Believing she needed to be on something stronger anyway, I had a doc in the family write a script for Diflucan. Within an hour and a half, my 2.5 year old pooped over 2 feet worth of poop. I was elated! But then she seemed to regress, particularly with regard to learning. She always wants to learn and suddenly she wasn't asking any questions. I wrote it off to die-off. Three weeks later, she still seemed regressed and a light-bulb went off. 's yeast was confirmed by a stool test (and her urine MAP), but they hadn't been able to culture the yeast. I got the results of my own stool test back and, hmm, my own yeast is resistant to Diflucan. got thrush at 7 weeks when I was still breast feeding. It seemed quite possible to me that she has the same strain. I stopped the diflucan and added in some old compounded Nystatin. After two doses and less than 24 hours, was more her old self and was teaching herself how to spell. We went to see Dr. Usman this past week and she first thought should take Sporanox instead, but then she checked 's genetic results and doesn't clear ANY of the prescription anti- fungals well. They all interfere with her detox/methylation system. So Usman put her on Yeast Aid by Kirkman (a mix of natural anti-fungals) and she has been doing well on that for the last week. I am taking it as well. To me it is another lesson how very individual our kids are. Diflucan is great and I wish it worked for Rach, but it didn't and I couldn't tell die off from a flare. Luckily, things are smooth now. I hope to see some of you at A1. Dawn __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Could you tell me how much s. boulardi you are using and what brand? We are adding this to our regime but Iām not sure how much and for how long you should do it. Thanks! Re: Diflucan-resistant yeast We used the s. boulardii with the Valtrex for about a month, then did the diflucan, then nystatin for 2 days, then s.boulardii for 2 weeks, now the Yeast Aid. All while on Valtrex. The current plan is Yeast Aid for 1 month, then s.boulardii again for 6-8 weeks and run another OATS test. We haven't done anything directly for bacterial. > > > > Hi all. Guest guest
Klaire Labs saccharomyces boulardii. 1 capsule 3+ billion CFUs. 1 cap, twice a day S. boulardii is a yeast that eats other yeast, so you don't take it with an anti-fungal, because the anti-fungal will just kill the s.boulardii. > > > > > > Hi all.
