Guest guest
Hey gang, I think I am about to disappear for a couple of days and wanted to share some (more) good news and wish you happy holidays!!! I quit dipping snuff on Saturday, and am pleased to have made it this far. There is no discussion left with myself on the matter. That habit is over, dead, gone, past. No revisiting it!!! Simple: Just don't buy, borrow or steal it, and there is no way to do it. ! I am coming up on the 4 week mark (33% through my first self-challenge!!!). I went to get weighed/measured this morning and was amazed and encouraged. I had a couple of days worth of slip-ups, and now agree with others that as long as you get back to it quickly, you are still tracking towards goals. After all, who can be perfect, but still improving? I started out with a 7-week milestone of 14% bodyfat. That was about 4 weeks ago at 20% (of 190 #), by a reputable trainer. He raised his eyebrows when he pulled my chart and asked how strictly I was dieting and how often/how I was working out. I gave him the scoop, and said that I had two or three days of slippage. He said, " You're doing something right, and whatever it is, keep it up and you'll have no problem hitting your 12 week goals. " I asked, " Why!? What is it?! You're killing me here. What'd you get??? " He said " 13.1% at 185. " <heart stop, momentary disbelief> And this exceeds the 7 week goal, 3 weeks early. Now, I know there are skeptics out there. Anyone (self included) can argue that maybe there was an error in the measurement the first or subsequent time. Nobody can argue the nice comments from co-workers and friends, though. Nobody can argue the feeling of increased strength in day to day activities, or the increased flexibility, or the fact that what used to be difficult aerobic activity is now a warm up. Even if there was a mis-reading of body fat comp, there is obviously something going in the right direction, and I intend to push it the rest of the way through and make it a habit for life beyond this 12 weeks in time. Not without frustrations and hesitations, but encouraged! Be safe. Be sensible. See y'all after the holidays!!! Jeff How does the guy who drives the snowplow get to work? Guest guest
Kym, You know, I really hoped that someday I would be down to a XL... imagine my surprise the first time a L fit! I now wear M in tops. My pants are 12.... but I think with a little more effort I can get them to 10. My dresses are 10/12. It is unbelievable, really. I never imagined results this good. Congrats, girlfriend! in WA
Guest guest
Oh Kym, how well I understand your being so thrilled by wearing a size large. Yesterday I happened on a beautiful dress and tried on the large, which was just a bit tight... and bought the medium, which I'll wear to a special event in June 2004!!! Congratulations, and full understanding! Bobbe - ('98 top wt. of 284) 3/12/03 268.5, 9/9/03 196 = <72.5 lbs.> If you can dream it... you can do it! God, give me the dream that you planned for my life. Don't postpone joy.
