Hello, I am a stay at home mom of 3 kids ages 5, 3 yrs, and 16

month old. The 5 yr old is high functioning autistic. She is in

regular classes now in school but the school is very supportive and

nurturing. She is doing very well in school but does have trouble

staying on task and concentrating. But she is 5 not to mention the

other stuff. At home we have seen so much progress as well she still

tantrums but no where near as much and it seems to come in cycles.

She is on no meds now occasionally on a bad day she will need

clonadine before bed but hardly ever. She has been a very bad toe

walker for years and despite physical therapy she is needing

intervention. Her muscles have all shrank and it causing her pain. In

2 weeks she starts the cast process. She will get casts on every 2

weeks till we get the desired range of montion. I know this is going

to be so hard on her I worry it will cause her to back slide. Plus

she'll only be in school half a day during the summer which is hard

on her anyway. Has anyone else had this procedure done? I feel very

comfortable getting it done I trust the dr's and know that something

needs to be done. I feel strongly that once we get the rom back she

will stay down. I think this will be hard on her where she won't want

to do it again as well as things do not bother her feet like they

used to.

Well this is kinda long winded huh! Looking forward to getting to

know you,
