>Good for you.

I would be curious about any recent/updated research regarding

methylation protocols. It seems that since the initial

recommendation for methyl b-12/folinic/tmg, a variety of other

recommendations have been made (no folinic, no tmg, etc). So I guess

I'd just like to know if the original work will be fine-tuned, or

what other work is on the horizon regarding specific protocols for

specific children (i.e. how do how know which will work best for

your child, outside of trial and error?)

Thanks,

Hi Stan,

Once again you are our hero. You better keep taking that mb-12 as

you're gonna need lots of energy to keep up with your untiring

efforts to help our children. YOU are WHO I think of when I get

discouraged and feel helpless and then I raise up and start again

with renewed conviction. Thank you Stan.

Sounds great, all the best with it!

Re Deth questions, I would like to know, following recent

presentation by Megson, if any of his own research touches on

possible calcium channelopathy in autism, or whether he would know of

any other researchers who are looking into this.

Hi Kathie,

Very kind words, thank you. And it's notes and stories like yours

Ditto. I too would like to know more

about the calcium processing connection. Maybe also including, how many of the

children who have this calcium issue also have trouble processing folinic acid.

You’re the best Stan. -

Whilst on the folic acid, a mom on CK2 posted this link that talks

about some genes that do not allow folate assimilation and

absorption (in addition to some of the Bs).

http://www.globaldnasolutions.com/physicians.htm

Given that, would pregnant moms be better off taking something like

Folapro (L-5 methyl tetrahydrofolate) as opposed to the form of

folic acid in the prenatals. Might the folic acid in the prenatal

pills harm the baby if mom is unable to assimilate or absorb it, or

does it leave the body harmlessly? This question has been bugging me

for about a year now. Thanks for doing this Stan.

I don't think Dr. Deth is your guy for calcium processing unfortunately. Maybe

I should

reach out to . I don't think I've seen her present.

Hi Stan, Dr Deth is definitely the guy for this - he has done quite a

lot of research on dopamine receptors, notably D4 receptors. These are

linked to calcium channels. In his Autism One presentation he talks A

LOT about membrane fluidity. This would be closer to my real question -

ie interdependence between these receptors and channels and how these

modulate each other, with the focus being on L-type calcium channels.

My question is NOT related to problems of calcium processing as such, as

those problems would be downstream of membrane dysfunctions and I am

sure Dr Deth has not gone into that area (Alison, I believe that

somehow our kids' problems are related to membrane dysfunctions, we need

guys like and to help figure out how exactly, and how to go

about testing and treatment - VitA/bethanacol treatment is one of the

possible answers, for some of our kids!).

Megson presented on both 2005 and 2006 Autism One. This year's

presentation focused closely on calcium channelopathy and one of the

possible treatments for channel modulation. Not sure if Dr Deth saw it,

but I believe the two presentation would link up nicely to form a BIG

piece of the puzzle...

Thanks Natasa,

Ever since I read

Megson’s bethanacol treatment I knew it would definitely relate to CJ’s

issues. He fits all of the profiles (it seems he fits every single

profile of all treatments though). I tried introducing more Vitamin A

through NN children DHA CLO but he is having trouble digesting too much of the

oil. I am trying to work up VERY slowly. I don’t know if he

will ever make it to the point of tolerating as much as Megson recommends but

maybe that just shows how much he needs the bethanacol for it to work.

This feels like the never ending road…..-

BTW, you are really starting to sound like

a biologist and immunologist. You’re soaking it all in like a

sponge, I think I’ve hit “overwhelm” mode so my sponge is a

little full at the moment. I need to catch up. LOL!

Hi Stan

Could you ask about the SSRI? How Dr. Deth thinks about it as of a

treatment to ASD, what's the criteria/profile to predict if SSRI may

help a child and why it may help?

Soory if this question is too entry level...

Would you ask Dr. Deth

about this: There is a significant

sub-group of kids that show EEG abnormalities with no actual seizure activity, what

is the significance of this finding and what medical treatments are proving

useful? Thanks…

about this: There is a significant

sub-group of kids that show EEG abnormalities with no actual seizure activity, what

is the significance of this finding and what medical treatments are proving

useful? Thanks…

Re: A New

Autism One Radio Show

Hi Stan

Could you ask about the SSRI? How Dr. Deth thinks about it as of a

treatment to ASD, what's the criteria/profile to predict if SSRI may

help a child and why it may help?

Soory if this question is too entry level...

Hi ,

I already interviewed him and the show broadcast this morning. An

archived version is available at www.autismone.com/radio

In my experience with EEGs there is a significant amount of

abnormality in two ways:

1. Abnormal bursts of fast wave activity (beta bursts)

2. Abnormal bursts of slow wave activity (theta bursts).

Both of these seem to be able to cause or relate to attention,

functioning, or depression challenges. They seem to be a lack of

synchronicity that, for some, can be resolved with MB12 or other

therapies that help methylation.

What Dr. Deth did discuss in the interview was how the cortex is

like the radio broadcast device that allows for intrabrain

communication and how a methylation challenge or toxicity can

directly affect cortex function. It's a very interesting part of

the interview.

If you take a peek at my Q-EEG video located at

www.recoveryvideos.com you can quickly get a handle on how wave

bursts can be a cause of attention problems.
