Guest guest
My son was taking 500 mg twice a day. Its a 1000 mg cap and today I dropped it to 1/3 cap in the morning, so it would be about 333.33 mg give or take a few. We did not get a nosebleed per se but just smidgens of red in the mucus. Noteworthy, I had not seen this ever before and my son is 8. Gayatri > > I was asked how much taurine may have caused the nose bleeds. Guest guest
Hi all, I have been giving my son 1000 mg daily of Taurine and have never had a problem with nosebleeds. Now, on the flip side, my daughter, who is NT and does not take Taurine at all, had for several years problems with nosebleeds where blood would come gushing out, sometimes in the middle of the night--scary, and took a while to stop. After it became " kind of the norm " with her and we started to get quite worried, we took her to two different doctors about this issue and they said that some kids have fragile capillaries inside the nasal cavity making them more prone to nosebleeds. They checked it all, and nothing! One of them said that as she would grow up this should subside...and to my surprise, it actually has! Even one of their nurses indicated that she had this same problem with one of her children and as he grew it went away. Now my daughter only gets a nosebleed maybe 4-6 times per year, especially when it's really dry outside. She had as many nosebleeds (when it was really bad) as 2x per week and this was when she was 3-7 yrs old.

Guest guest
Stan, CJ’s issue was with L-lysine (not taurine) and since I threw it away I’m not sure of the mgs but I only crushed the very smallest amount from the corner of the pill. My guess is it was around 100mgs from a 500mg pill. What is interesting is that they say that preliminary studies show L-lysine may increase the absorption of Calcium. Calcium is another supplement CJ cannot take (some of his worst days were on Calcium, this was clear). Again, more questions than answers. Thanks for taking so much time. - From: mb12 valtrex [mailto:mb12 valtrex ] On Behalf Of Stan Kurtz Sent: Wednesday, July 05, 2006 4:07 PM mb12 valtrex Subject: Question about taurine - How much were you using? Guest guest
Might very well be tying into questions about sulphur chemistry amongst a gazillion other variables. It all eventually leads back to genetic predispositions doesn't it? Can't help what you are born into.
