Guest guest
Vicki, My son seldom engages in anything at home, so used to wander around a lot. I blew up an exercise ball for me, and left it laying around, and he has appropriated it and now spends most of his free time bouncing around the house. He bounces, puts his arms behind him, and scoots the ball all over. People who see it are amazed. Its great sensory input for him. You probably have provided sensory stuff for your son, but in case you don't have an exercise ball he might enjoy it as a way to burn off energy and get some good proprioceptive input. It also wears him out, which is helpful! well, he is still hyper but not as much. meaning, instead of bouncing off the walls like a ball in a pin ball machine, he just walks around the house a lot. he's a busy body. he used to run thru the house constantly. now, it's walking around. room to room to room...
