Guest guest
Help! Drew is having big time regressions. He also threw up yesterday again! He has had problems falling asleep and staying asleep the last two nights. He has his hands down his pants again, which had almost disappear in the last two weeks! He is also tantruming again! Grumpy!! Do the regresssions get worse again during the regression period at times? He hasn't had any physical signs (rashes, welts, cold sores, etc.) for the last 7 days or so. I need guidance! I thought that Drew should be coming out of this phase soon. Shouldn't he? Shouldn't we be seeing improvements now?? What's going on? Should I chelate? Stop Valtrex? I'm so confused! Is it because he is almost nine years old and have just started anti-viral treatment?? Help!! Missy
Guest guest
Hi Missy, What exactly is the protocol you are using? Are you on an antifungal? It sounds like you are having a fungal flare (the aggression and hands down the pants can be signs of that). Are you using Diflucan or Nizoral as well? - Stan > > Help! Guest guest
Hi - We're a little bit ahead of you - Day 35 - and I am still seeing regression as well. Your guy can't keep his hands out of his pants - mine can't keep them out of his mouth!! As I mentioned in another post, we are seeing some nice language gains, but not much else. Since we upped the dosage to 3xday he's back to the red, rosey cheeks but that's the only physical sign we see. So - have you introduced anything or changed your protocol at all? Our DAN dr. wants us to rotate antifungals every two weeks and when he's off Diflucan, the behaviors seem to get worse. So I'm going to call our DR. and ask her why can't we just stay on the Diflucan. Good luck- -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: " Nadeau " <missynadeau@...> > Help! Guest guest
Stan When you have a fungal flare, does the Valtrex not work like it is supposed too? Just wondering since we are on day four with no regression or rash or fever, but yeast is showing it's ugly head again...Stan Kurtz <stankurtz@...> wrote: Hi Missy,What exactly is the protocol you are using? Guest guest
Drew is taking Diflucan daily. would it be better to rotate anti- fungals? Diflucan has been working pretty well for Drew. He is also taking Nystatin 2x daily. Is this neccessary? We are still do 1/2 tsp. Valtrex twice a day. (250 mog. 2x daily) I mentioned that I wanted to switch Drew to 3x daily but DAN! doc hasn't done it yet. He was asking for literature on 3x daily. Could you suggest any info. that I could e-mail him? Do you think Drew would have better results 3x daily or should we stick to 2x daily for now? > > > > Help! Drew is having big time regressions. Guest guest
- We are also seeing nice language gains in Drew. He is doing a great job sticking to topic and his conversations have lengthened. Still waiting for any gains in math! He has no number sense at all! Can't add or subtract even 1+1. They keep sending math homework but it doesn't make a difference. I am going to ask his DAN! about upping the Valtrex to 3x daily. We saw red ears and cheeks but haven't seen it lately. We ran out of Diflucan today and won't be able to get it until tomorrow!! ARRGH! Hopefully, one day won't make too much of a difference. (wishful thinking! LOL) This autism rollercoaster ride never ends! Guest guest
IMO I would dial in and focus on / support one intervention before moving on to another. That way you have a base line in how to adjust that particular protocol Specially the biggies. (Chelation/ antiviral) .. We have been there many of times in many things. A rule of thumb I have always used is slow and steady wins the race. My best Kenny V > > Help! Drew is having big time regressions. He also threw up > yesterday again!
