Guest guest
, do you mind sharing your age? I found when I did the challenge last yr that I had better results if I limited my carb intake after the afternoon meal. I am 43. It just was not giving me the results I wanted ingesting 150 carbs a day. Is there someone locally there, a friend, neighbor or someone you could get interested in doing this with you? Accountibilty really helped me get jump started. If I knew was waiting for me at 8am, I was ready. We made a pack that if we cheated on eating we would tell each other. Its SOOO much different from being accountable to your spouse . If you could have " snacks " available for you that were approved while the kids were having their cheetos, that might help. If you stick with this, you really will get to a point where you look at that handful of doritoes and put them back because its just not worth it! I found having a meal replacement bar handy was helpful too even if I just took a bite and pretended it was a snickers!
Guest guest
Barb, maybe instead of the palm, you can go for a " fistful " for your portion. As far as bodyfat goes, it is so dependent on who and what type of calculation you do. I learned to go by the tape measure for my progress. Have you measured everywhere? I would measure at the beginning, and wait and measure again at about 6 weeks. There seems to be something magical about the 5th or 6th week in seeing some serious results in your first round. Guest guest
You can do it . Your situation may not be perfect or totally supportive but you can overcome these obstacles. If the kids snack is a temptation plan one of your meals for that time so you have something authorized. Add 10 minutes of moderate cardio to the end of your 20 minute solution if it makes you feel like you are giving it that extra effort (just avoid the urge to do hours of extra work each week). Spend the time planning for success. Five to ten minutes each day in the evening reflecting on what you did, what you learned and what you will do tomorrow will help. Use this time to review why you are doing this program. Your goals and why they are important. All the best! kit
Guest guest
Barbara, your palm has depth, as does your fist. Bill is trying to save you time and frustration. If you are the type that is driven to measure check out the Hussman site to help you estimate your daily caloric target, divide by six, then separate into 40% protein, 40% carbs and 20% fat. Then go to a food table or food encyclopedia and figure your measurements. Once you get the exact amount you can thereafter estimate with greater certainty and less stress. Guest guest
Barb when I cook a whole turkey breast for several meals I use my trusty diet food scale and slice te meat thin and weigh out 3-4 oz of meat for a meal that works best for me with the sliced meat. Hope that helps. Sharon
Guest guest
Barb, Your confidence will improve as you get experience. I self taught myself through books and magazines when I first started weight training. When I was still new to it, I was at my gym and a guy came up to me (I was bench pressing) and complimented me on my form. Come to find out he was a title holding professional (all natural)bodybuilder. Cheryl C.
