Guest guest
Ok guys, I posted a post about this before and well it's happened again. I am about to get really upset with my son's Head Start Family Service Worker. She is so rude sometimes. She walked me and to his class this morning and She said that his ECI cordinator had said that his hearing test had come back normal and the he could hear. Well, I had told her that too. So then she asks me again, so is the signing necesary? Once again I told her Yes, absolutely, he still has a really significant speech delay and that's the only way he knows how to tell me what he wants. So we will continue using it until he gets caught up. My son's head start facility is not equiped to handle children with disabilities. I honestly think there needs to be one classroom for each age group for the disabled children. I know fundage issues won't allow this to happen, but my son is paying the price for it. As far as I know, the facility isn't making any attempts to educate the teachers on sign language. I really don't even think they are doing anything for his SPD either. His OT went out there once and taught them how to do the brushing and I highly doubt it is getting done. I'm getting soooooo frustrated with this center. How can I raise my concerns to someone who won't listen to a word I say? How can I do it without seeming like a total B****? Sorry to vent so long, but it's really annoying and really frustrating.
