I have been dating a woman and told her about my hep-c.We haven't slept together yet , I wanted her do come research on her own, so she would feel comfortble about sex. Well her gynocologist told he that 30% of the women that she sees have hep c. I think she's assuming that their getting it through sex but everything I've read says no. What do you guys think? Well Steve i can sure identify with this, when i am getting along with

some girl/woman i leave it till we are comftorable with each other then

i reveal it.How she takes it is up to her,if they run a mile the chances

are they aren't worth it bud,two have done this to me so far and it was

no great loss for me.One of them even phoned me back two month later

and tried to act all cool i just blanked her.Your problem is similar

and the thing is bud if she does like you i think that it will work for

you i realy hope it does, however if not and the bullshit starts getting

spread i wouldnt't loose any sleep over it if i were you.The things in

the past have given you bigger smacks in the mouth than this.Just take

a while then get up dust yourself down and get back on the old horse

as you have done in the past. You were HONEST with her and she should

respect that,

ps/i do hope it goes your way i think it will good luck steve you do

deserve it.

I think Steve off the top of my head in the file section of the group I have a report on sexual transmission and hep C. In a monogamous relationship the chances of hep c are very slim to none of transmission. I am just wondering if her gynecologist has asked the women if they have any of the other risk factors? I am just saying this because, I have been married to my husband for 25 yrs. We have a very active sex life. Never used condoms before I found out I had Hep C. He gets tested yearly for Hep C (he is in the military and is a requirement for physicals.) and we had him tested twice by my own personal doctor he test negative. Many others in here can give you personal stories also. But the research says, that the rate of transmission is very rare in heterosexual monogamous relationships. I hope this has helped and please look

in the file section for that information. Yep Janet, its very slim to none as far as transmission between hetero monogamous couples. I was married to my childrens father for 11 years AFTER I was infected and he is negative. My next husband who I was ( married 5 years but was with him for 10 years) MONOGAMOUS with didnt know HE was married but also tested negative. I have been married to my last and ONLY husband for 6 years and have been together for 7 years and he too is negative.. Ok OK, I know Im telling on myself but HEY, I always say that you if you fail, you try , try, try again,, and I think I have made a good choice THIS TIME..lolJanet <doc_jade@...> wrote: I think Steve off the top of my head in the file section of the group I have a report on sexual transmission and hep C. Steve, You are right in that it is not spread easily by sex IF at all.. In reality, I would think that it would be easier to spread FROM female to male during menstruation but more difficult to spread from male to female. This is just my opinion.. Why dont you bring her here to this forum IF she has more questions, we might be able to reassure her. AND IF I WERE HER,,, I"D find a new gynecologist.. She would stand a higher chance of getting it from him if he doesnt use really good and sterile technique when doing exams, paps, etc... steve brewer <brewmon2003@...> wrote: I have been dating a woman and told her about my hep-c.We haven't slept together yet , I wanted her do come research on her own, so she would feel comfortble about sex. That means making sure that you apply them properly, and dispose of them right. No I will not give lessons. LOL Love Janetsteve brewer

Steve, Just a note...make sure she said HCV and that the gyn did not think HPV....because 30% of woman who get pap smears find they have HPV...Human Papaloma Virus...a virus that is only detected through a pap smear, and is transferred from a partner during sex. It has absolutely nothing to do with HCV. I also think her gyn needs to read up a bit on HCV. steve brewer <brewmon2003@...> wrote: I have been dating a woman and told her about my

Current data from the CDC says that the transmission through heterosexual intercourse is less than 1% . Your doc must be thinking about HPV

Poor Steve!! Hopefully your friend will come to the site and see that there are many happy people on this site. Living normal lives with their families. We are not running around infecting our love ones. Okay as (normal as you can with Hep C and treatment and so forth). Ummmm Steve you a cowboy, I got a girl, who I can fix you up with. But she likes cowboys. And Austin is not that far of a drive from here. hmmmmmm just call me match maker, match maker. And she does have a good personality, but is a very pretty lady to match. And has a great job. Love Janetsteve brewer <brewmon2003@...> wrote: Thanks for all your replies guys. I'm with you, her gyn. needs to get a lot more educated.
