Guest guest
Hi there, can you tell me where to read up or listen to talks on Luperon, there seems to be a lot of controversey with this one - and also what were your childs levels of testoserone etc - I am having trouble finding anyone who can interprete our chidls results etc - if the drug is safe enough and levels are high it seems like a natural thing to do - however I am finding people are very negative about even discussing it as a treatment - your results are wonderful, what a wonderful feeling after all the things you have tried etc regards mary Chelation & Lupron -- Add VALTREX? -- Stan & Others Please Advise My son is 5 y.o. with ASD. We have tried many things since he was 3. Specifically: From age 3 - 4.5 did schooling only (ABA, OT, ST) no biomedical intervention. He made gains with this. At 4.5 we added supplements (fish oil, supervitamins ... lots). No gains noted. At 4 years and 8 months we put him on a GF/Cf diet with enzymes, probiotics etc. We also combated yeast. We used GSE, OLE etc. We noted little gains. He lost most of his pickiness for foods. At 4 years and 11 months, we added MB12. We noted slight gains. At 5 years and 1 month we tried HBOT (40 dives, 100% O2, 1.5 ATA). He lost whatever language he had. However, his gut issues disappeared. At 5 years and 3 months we began chelating him -- Andy Cutler protocal, DMSA & ALA. We note some gains every week. At 5 years and 5 months we learned he has very high testosterone and started Lupron treatment. We are continuing chelation. His language exploded! Seeing gains everyday. The biggest problem is that we can't train him fast enough. He repeats or attempts almost all words. He is improving! Here's my question (finally): I would like to add Valtrex to his regiment. Why? Although he is doing very well on Lupron & Chelation, no one seems to know why Valtrex works on some of these kids. I don't want to leave any stone unturned. I am thinking that Valtrex is causing chelation in a different way. If I do this, I will add Liver Life or something to help protect his liver. Note that he seems to have viral issues -- warts and had many ear infections before becoming autistic. What are your thoughts? Thanking in advance. Guest guest
Hi Folks: I am new to this group but a relatively old timer. I have two children who lost there autism diagnosis. I have learned over the years that viruses, parasites, yeast and bacteria love metals. As long as you have the metals you'll need to fight off all of the above. We chelated my son for 4 years and my daughter for 3. During that time we treated for all of the above over and over. If I were to add the Valtrex(which I am no expert on and have no experience with) I would make sure the liver and kidneys are working up to snuff-to detox all the meds. I recommend Hulda e's Kindney and liver cleanses or homopathic drainers. Just my 2 cents. Guest guest
When did you start chelation? I would do at least 6 months of chelation before introducing Valtrex. I am just thiking it would be too hard on his body to do both at first. Within a few weeks of starting chelation - Andy Cutler's protocol too - my son's language also took off. Isn't amazing to see? It is like watching a typical kid developping language in a fast forward mode! He went from non-verbal, severely apraxic (grunting and crying, could not even make an 'o' sound) to speaking in full sentences in a few months! > > My son is 5 y.o. with ASD. Guest guest
, The testosterone level of a child depends on his / her age. For my son of age 5, a normal testosterone level is supposed to be 5 (if I recall correctly). My son's is 15. To interpret your son's lab results, your pediatrician should be able to help. Tell him you suspect your child has precocious puberty and want to see of his testosterone is high. In reference to the testosterone protocal -- First and foremost, I believe in the science behind the high testosterone & mercury connection. Please listen to Dr. Geier & Reverend Sykes for that information: http://www.autismmedia.org/media4.html As per the arguments for and against Lupron (safety) -- I struggled a whole lot with this thing. I heard all the things you are hearing. I joined the "Lupron Victims" group, received complaints from the FDA etc. As per concerns from individual, I tried to distinguish between emotional fear mongers and legitimate arguments. The most common arguments from folks on these sites is that 1. lupron use is "risky" -- who knows what will happen once you start using Lupron 2. lupron use is not natural -- you should not interfere wit the natural process My counter arguments are as follows: 1. Most documented complaints against Lupron were from adult females (ones who were well into puberty). There are very few complaints documented for children. Those are the facts. This does not make Lupron fully safe -- but there are far fewer complaints listed against Lupron as opposed to DMSA or DMPS. As per "who knows what will happen once you start using" -- I know what will happen if autism is left untreated -- the child will remain autistic. If other things are not working, why not use Lupron? Thus far, Dr. Geier has 50 patients and 50 out of 50 are making progress!! I've spoken to several parents who confirmed this. 2. As per the argument "lupron use is not natural -- you should not interfere with the natural process" -- the natural process has already been interfered with. My son received mercury-laced vaccines -- this was about as non-natural as things get. I need to counter that -- with chelation, enzymes, lupron or whatever. Sometimes I believe that DAN doctors are unneccessarily generating fear. The more go with this protocal, the fewer DAN docs are needed. Just my 2 cents. He lost most of his pickiness for foods. At 4 years and 11 months, we added MB12. We noted slight gains. At 5 years and 1 month we tried HBOT (40 dives, 100% O2, 1.5 ATA).He lost whatever language he had. However, his gut issuesdisappeared. At 5 years and 3 months we began chelating him -- Andy Cutlerprotocal, DMSA & ALA. We note some gains every week.At 5 years and 5 months we learned he has very high testosterone andstarted Lupron treatment. We are continuing chelation. Hislanguage exploded! Seeing gains everyday. The biggest problem isthat we can't train him fast enough. He repeats or attempts almostall words. He is improving! Here's my question (finally):I would like to add Valtrex to his regiment. Why? Although he isdoing very well on Lupron & Chelation, no one seems to know whyValtrex works on some of these kids. I don't want to leave anystone unturned. I am thinking that Valtrex is causing chelation ina different way. If I do this, I will add Liver Life or somethingto help protect his liver.Note that he seems to have viral issues -- warts and had many earinfections before becoming autistic. What are your thoughts?Thanking in advance. Guest guest
Holly, Thanks for the advice and so much congratulations on the fact that 2 of your kids lost their asd diagnosis! You deserve so much credit! It requires so much patience. My son finally started repeating a words. He sounds great! We were pushing it by trying to have him ride a tricycle. He was pushing the pedal on and off but he's not there yet -- so damn frustrating! Again, you deserve so much credit.inticci@... wrote: Hi Folks: I am new to this group but a relatively old timer. Guest guest
I hear you . It may not be a good idea to chelate and do valtrex at the same time. I also fear that I may lose time. The longer those damned metal sit in his body -- the more harm they can cause. He's already 5 years and 4 months old. I am struggling with the right approach. and yes -- it is amazing to watch. Guest guest
In thinking some more... The warts may be a sign of a viral issue yes. The challenge of getting advice is that you are the first post about a Lupron trial we have. We don't have a lot of information to go on regarding Lupron and Valtrex. My instict says that if you are doing well, I would hold on a bit longer before changing anything. If you did decide to try Valtrex it may work well since Lupron will likely raise glutathione levels... but I'm guessing... totally guessing and there are some very bright folks that have concerns about Lupron so I'm really careful about Lupron and I hope everyone understands that. Until there is some type of track record, I feel an obligation to speak very carefully about it. I do believe in the testosterone connection in ASD and believe that high testosterone should be at least considered for some type of strategy... typically antifungals first. But it also seems that some families may rightly consider Lupron... and I support a families decision to try what they want, but it is a very new therapy and there is a real debate about messing directly with testosterone... but time will tell and if your child is doing well, that is certainly the most important thing. - Stan > > My son is 5 y.o. with ASD. Guest guest
His remaining symptoms (besides language): -not at the level of a 5 year old in terms of play -- -he can not ride a bike- -in his own world -- can not really concentrate enough -- for example, if asked to put his pant on, he looks the other way. We have to prompt him and push him along for everything-- -- not fully potty trained-- I am really glad he ismoving up the ladder but wanted to make sure we are doing everything so that this continues.
