Guest guest
, Yes to the natural antifungals. Both SB and Candex are good choices, IMO. If there is no yeast for Candex to digest, then there isn't a problem. If there is no bad yeast for the SB to push out of the way, again, I don't think there is a problem because you will remove the SB after you're done the AV. As I've written before, I am a big believer in throwing all the antivirals you can at the problem. This is what Andy Cutler recommends and my experience as been that the man is rarely wrong. Also, it just makes sense. The antivirals work by different mechanisms on different viruses. We really don't know what problems our kids are having, so this wide approach makes sense. Hope this helps, Anita > > > > Cade is currently on Valtrex (only 250 mg per day...calling DAN dr > > tomorrow to see if we can up it to 750 mg per day), Virastop (3 > per > > day) and OLE (21 drops per day). Guest guest
I seem to spend my days saying this, but it is quite important to be on an antifungal with Valtrex for our kids. The reason you need it is that in our kids (not all conditions, but very often in autism) we see acute fungal flares when we start antiviral therapy in a great majority of children. Additionally we see more kids get better and more kids recovery when using an antifungal with Valtrex than with just Valtrex alone. I guess if all the doctors knew it, I could spend my on other things. Someday. - Stan > > Cade is currently on Valtrex (only 250 mg per day...calling DAN dr > tomorrow to see if we can up it to 750 mg per day), Virastop (3 per > day) and OLE (21 drops per day). Guest guest
Anita, are you suggesting all antivirals at once? Guest guest
Stan, I'm not suggesting all antivirals at once. But I am suggesting (as Andy Cutler has suggested, and I respect his opinion enormously) that antivirals work by different mechanisms, and that fact can be used to our benefit. Also, most of our kids would seem to have more than one virus at work in them, perhaps even viruses we haven't identified as problematic (our bodies are absolutely filled with viruses--the vast majority cause no problems whatsoever). While researching this, I spoke to a number of parents who had tried either Valtrex or the other one I can never remember how to spell, but with little result. All these things lead me to believe that for a good number of our kids, a multiple approach is best. And not one after another, or in rotation--which could lead to resistance--but all at once. Starting one at a time, of course, just adding them in. I chose the ones I chose based on what they are supposed to do. VS to attack all viruses through digesting them. Lauricidin because it can work on measles, which I believe to be a problem. And OLE, because it uses a different mechanism again, and had been used successfully by people like Dana for a very long time. Sambucol because it seems to do well with flu viruses, which change all the time. Guest guest
I'm not questioning you or Andy. I'm just asking you to qualify what you said because it wasn't clear to me. Besides the knock about Valtrex I would agree with this with the caviott that if you are riding a developmental gain, especially with Valtrex (or OLE) I would likely NOT put anything else onboard unless the gains slowed down. Since Valtrex is helping some, possibly many, people detox from metals I think that putting too many antiviral onboard at the same time could work against you. It becomes a question of balance between how much you tax the body and what might be doing what you need. As far as who responded well to Valtrex, I would challage anyone to compare our improvement and recovery statistics of the families in this group to any other therapy except maybe metals detox and MB12. I don't think you've been here long enough to read the Valtrex sucesses we have here. Using Valtrex by itself I could believe that people won't see great results... doing it right is completely another story. - Stan > > > > > > > > > > Cade is currently on Valtrex (only 250 mg per day...calling > DAN > > > dr > > > > > tomorrow to see if we can up it to 750 mg per day), Virastop > (3 > > > > per > > > > > day) and OLE (21 drops per day).
