Guest guest
Muscle cramping is a sign of low potassium levels. You try eating some bananas? Eating a banana at night might help, just a thought and it sure couldn't hurt you. I've had leg cramps on and off for years, some so bad they woke me up out of a deep sleep- or one that would act up in my foot when I was driving. Looking back, I attribute those problems to the hep now. > > HELLO JAX,AND YOU OTHER LADIES. > For the past few years i have learned to live with the cold hands/feet/ > itching etc.Lately though i have been getting very painfull cramps in > my left leg {actually its both but left is the worst}whenever i even > move my foot up or down. The big toe seems to want to go the other way > and the pain stiffness reaches right up to my calf muscles,AS you can > gather if i move position in my sleep i get a painfull awakening.I have > been able up to now to semi control it but i am bothered in case this > becomes the norm i dont take anything for pain relief.my present > medication is as follows > Lansoprazole,1 per day. > Propanolol 2 40mg 1 morning/night > Isosobide mononitrate,2 30 per day. > i look forward to hearing from you. > cheers *GED* >
Guest guest
The cramping can be from low sodium also . Drinking sports drinks is what I do and I havent had leg cramps since . I cut soda's out completely and drink only gatorade ,lol Re: just a quick QUESTION, LEG CRAMPS AT NIGHT ????? Muscle cramping is a sign of low potassium levels. You try eating somebananas? Guest guest
I like Propel flavored waters and I cut out all the diet pepsi, but I haven't dropped my morning coffee, yet. I will when I start treatment, tho. As far as sodium intake, I'm okay there, so far. I do believe caffeine is very damaging in the long run, probably robs our bodies of more than just fluids, don't ya think? > > > > HELLO JAX,AND YOU OTHER LADIES. > > For the past few years i have learned to live with the cold hands/feet/ > > itching etc.Lately though i have been getting very painfull cramps in > > my left leg {actually its both but left is the worst}whenever i even > > move my foot up or down. The big toe seems to want to go the other way > > and the pain stiffness reaches right up to my calf muscles,AS you can > > gather if i move position in my sleep i get a painfull awakening.I have > > been able up to now to semi control it but i am bothered in case this > > becomes the norm i dont take anything for pain relief.my present > > medication is as follows > > Lansoprazole,1 per day. > > Propanolol 2 40mg 1 morning/night > > Isosobide mononitrate,2 30 per day. > > i look forward to hearing from you. > > cheers *GED* > > > > > > > > > > > > > It's a pleasure having you join in our conversations. Guest guest
it's not necessary, but thank you anyway. caffeine really dehydrates your body- but my biggest hurdle is quitting the smokes. Lifelong smoker here, 1-1.5 packs a day since the age of 12. I cheat. 2-3 cigs a day at this point. I did go smoke free for about 3 weeks and this is my 4th attempt to quit. Guest guest
Hi jennifer I used the gum,, only chewed half a piece at a time cuz it really made me nauseated if I chewed too much or too fast, it has now been 23 years since I smoked,, will be 24 this christmas! But I chewed it for I swear was 18 months,, I made it a slow thing, didnt pressure myself to get off the gum fast,, and when I was down to chewing half a piece in the am and half a piece in the pm, I switched to regular gum and never knew the difference at that point. The package says not to chew it that long, but I was not chewing a lot of it and it was still better than smoking! I was very very addicted to smoking and I usually smoked at least 2 1/2 packs a day... so for me, the gum really was a lifesaver! jaxjennifer green <jenngreeny@...> wrote: hello everyone, you know I have a smoking problem too. Guest guest
No I dont think that caffeine is more damaging in the long run. just my opinion but from what I have read, caffeine is really good for your liver in moderate amounts. While on treatment, because we have a tendency to get dehydrated and caffeine is dehyrating, ya have to drink one extra up of water for every cup of coffee you drink. Most of us reduce the amount we drink on tx because to have to drink extra water to make up for it is a pain in the rearend, most either cut way back or give it up. I managed to drop back to 2-3 cups per WEEK on tx.. but I never gave it up all together, I love my coffee,, good coffee with good creamer,, lol,, its my passion,, charolais_87048 <charolais_87048@...> wrote: I like Propel flavored waters and I cut out all the diet pepsi, but Ihaven't dropped my morning coffee, yet. Guest guest
Ged,, I had that very same thing happen when I was pregnant with my first child, and it was a low calcium. magnesium and zinc problem.. When I added that, in the recommended dose on the bottle, it went completely away. It may also be a problem with your electrolytes too. You might ask your doc about the supplement of just calcium, magnesium and zinc and see if that helps,, or add a good rehydrating fluid that doesnt have sugar. Low oz is what I use when I need to rehydrate. I hope this helps, if not, lemme know and Ill get more info,, hugs, jaxflanneryged <flanneryged@...> wrote: HELLO JAX,AND YOU OTHER LADIES.For the past few years i have learned to live with the cold hands/feet/itching etc.Lately though i have been getting very painfull cramps inmy left leg {actually its both but left is the worst}whenever i evenmove my foot up or down. The big toe seems to want to go the other wayand the pain stiffness reaches right up to my calf muscles,AS you cangather if i move position in my sleep i get a painfull awakening.I havebeen able up to now to semi control it but i am bothered in case thisbecomes the norm i dont take anything for pain relief.my present medication is as followsLansoprazole,1 per day.Propanolol 2 40mg 1 morning/nightIsosobide mononitrate,2 30 per day.i look forward to hearing from you.cheers *GED*Jackie
Guest guest
I get bad migraines, and taking magnesium helps reduce frequency and severity of pain. I have found that a higher magnesium dose will also help my mood. The only down side is that it is a laxative so you'll know when you've taken too much.
