Guest guest
We do shots and spray. Our spray is from Hopewell and I dont know if your problem is because of the way the spray is dispensed. My son is 4.4 and doesn't understand sniffing it either. What I do it sit him on my lap on the couch with pillows next to me. I lean him back on one arm at about a 45 degree angle and spray with the other hand. As soon as the spray goes I lay him down with his head tipped back and we sing. It took him a week or two to understand but he knows after 3 songs (short ones and sometimes now he lets me sing more) he can get up. We very rarely have any come back out unless he cries for some reason in the next few minutes or he has a runny nose. He is only 3.9 yrs. so he doesn't understand to breath in, but he isn't trying to snort out either. I am concerned b/c his metabolic panel showed he is severly deficient in B12 and after a yr. on the shots and now 6 mos. on the spray we have made no language gains (non verbal) and no internal progress on absorption/utilization. I REALLY don't want to return to the shots, we all hated them, lol! But maybe we will have to consider it?

Guest guest
We are on our first bottle and I am also wondering if our son is getting the dose. I do the same thing. He is upright when I do it because if I tip the bottle fluid will leak out. I do insert the tip as far as I can, but it does seem that he winds up with red at the end of his nose, like I have to get a kleenex so it doesn't leak out onto his face. So I'm with ya . Guest guest
Hi - We've been doing the nasal b12 for about two months now. I do sometimes get drips when I spray too much in his little nose. I only try to do 1/2 a squirt - any more than that and it looks like he's got a bloody nose! You've been doing the b12 intervention for such a long time that I think you and your dr. need to go back to the drawing board and figure out why his body is not absorbing this. There's got to be something else that you can do to increase the uptake of the b12. I wish I had some ideas as to what it could be, but I'm not very well versed in biomed. We're just starting Valtrex today - we'll see what happens. Guest guest
Thanks , I will try to make it a smaller squirt and see if that helps, along with tilting him further back like the other suggestions. His panels show him deficient in B12, B2, and Folic Acid. Go figure.. he gets it all in huge amounts, and doesn't seem to be dumping it in his urine (per his " need for it " analysis), so I wonder where it is going? Ty has been on valtrex for 18 mos. He NEEDS it still. We recently tried to take him off of it and upon reintro. he had the whole rash all over again! It has been an important intervention for him. Good luck to you with it! - In mb12 valtrex , " Fox " <lisa_fox@...> wrote: > > Hi - > We've been doing the nasal b12 for about two months now.
