Guest guest
Hi Yes we did. My son could not tolerate the folinic in Supernuthera or as a stand alone supplement. Per Dr. Neubrander, about 20-30% of kids can not tolerate folinic and will experience much of what you described. I would say to stop everything and then restart everything one at a time. Obviously your daughter can not tolerate something. Also, find out if your nasal is being compounded with folinic as that could be an issue. Could you please tell the list what you are using and maybe we can offer more suggestions? My son can also not tolerate TMG with mb 12 and has a huge need for zinc monomethionine while on MB 12. We had to stop MB 12 and then do zinc alone before restarting with much more success. MB 12 has been a huge part of his progress but for some the initial road can be a nightmare. My own opinion is some side effects like extra stimming, etc are expected and positive signs. Free fall regression with agression can be a sign of a bad reaction and many DANs feel that we should not let the kids go there. Right before we started we had heard such wonderful things from his teachers about his gains-esp in cognitive areas- and even in his more appropriate social interaction. That has all been erased. He had 4 violent meltdowns tonight just since returning home from school. If I suggest anything to him it becomes traumatic and he begins to breaks things and hit/kick me or anything near him. He's strong! The dog already bit him right under his eye yesterday because he was mad at her! We started the B12 nasal spray 5 days ago. The Rx said to give it everyday although we are questioning that dosage. However, he was acting this way before that. Geesh, it makes me long for the days before when we were "ignorant" of all that we could do to make him better. Must kids suffer like this? I can't stand to watch him this way. So many of you are way farther down this path, but seeing my child this way when he wasn't before is very disheartening. How in the world do you even know you are doing the right thing??? Guest guest
Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please do me a favor and SMACK your nutritionist. Right upside his/her head. Shame on him/her. Don’t ever start 2 treatments at the same time, much less 10-12. this is exactly why you don’t. if you cram everything in, and you get a reaction, you have no idea of what caused it and you have to start all over again. I’d pull them all out and start with the least likely to offend supplements first. You are not supposed to start things less than 2 weeks apart. Your nutritionist should know better. Guest guest
I have to run, but I am with everyone else. You should only do one thing at a time. We have been doing bio med for over one year (two if you count bethanechol) and I still take two weeks to even "tweek" an Rx or add anything new. Some interventions are really basic and easy like Cal/Mag which I might phase in over two weeks. The only thing I am not sure I see is zinc. Are you supplementing zinc? I am sure others would advise, but the order I would start is first CLO (over two weeks) and then zinc and then supernuthera and then taurine. My son can not tolerate MB 12 unless he gets a really good form of zinc every day. A lot of kids have trouble with folinic, so you might try adding that after the MB 12. Guest guest
We have no posts about regression that haven't gone away from either waiting it out or stopping Valtrex (some people don't hold out and stop... some I even encourage to stop if they can't see any gains at all for more than 45 days straight (assuming they are on an antifungal and have the gut in check). - Stan > Has anyone experienced big regressions just from doing supplements? > We started down the supplement road with our almost 6 year old PDD > about 6 weeks ago.
