Hi tim, Im female,, the only symptoms I had before I knew I had hep was severe fatigue, muscle and joint pains,, very rarely did I ever have a headache. Im not sure how one could have "NO symptoms or pains" that cleared when treated?? Im 3 years post tx clear still but have been totally disabled from the Interferon tx. hope that answers your questions jaxHillbilly Tim <knoxweb1@...> wrote: 1]how many of you had symptoms from hcv.[headaches, pains, etc} 2]male or female 3} how many that have had no pains{etc} clear that treated 4]how many had no symptoms clear that treated Love cheap thrills? Jax, you have been off interferon for 3 years and are still suffering from it? What are your lasting problems that you attribute to the interferon?

Yes Dorothy,, I have developed Sarcoidosis in my right eye which has required 2 surgeries and may still need more as the sarcoid membrane keeps growing back. Im lucky tho cuz usually Sarcoidosis attacks the lungs and heart. I also have fibromyalgia which was triggered and made worse from tx and my RA factor and Sed Rate are both twice normal which means I have some ongoing inflammation going on which may either be rheumatoid arthritis OR could be from the sarcoidosis. No one seems to know but I cannot get out of bed without heavy pain meds and provigil in order to wake up. The lasting fatigue is almost unbearable. Just had more labs and both sed and RA are still in the 30's and it has to be less than 20 to be normal.. but ana is negative. I have a lot of joint pains and stiffness especially in the morning. The hep exacerbaced my osteo in my knees or its early RA,still dont know. its frustrating, but before I knew I had hep, I

only had fatigue that was manigible, joint aches and stiff ness and severe body aches. but it was NOTHING like it is now.. but the hep is in remission,, so I guess its a fair trade altho I feel like I have NO quality of life anymore... sigh..Dorothy <dorv@...> wrote: Jax, you have been off interferon for 3 years and are still suffering from it? I've heard other stories also of lasting effects from tx. It seems like a catch 22 situation, to me. I guess one trades one set of problems for another! Sorry about all your problems. I also suffer from RA and my RA factor is in the 80's. I also have tested positive for cryoglobulinemia which may have had some cause in the RA. I have peripheral neuropathy in my right leg - the hepatologist said normally, this would occur in both legs if caused by cryo. I am seeing him again at the beginning of June to discuss the results of my tests and possible tx of the hcv.

Have you been tested for cryoglobulinemia - it could be causing some of the inflammatory problems. Not that it makes much difference - evidently, it has a tendency to go away during tx of HCV and then return when the tx is over.

As you say - the remission of the hepatitis is a good thing, but if you don't achieve quality of life, it's not a story book ending.

Tim,

I'm female and 44 y/o. In February, I had severe stomach pain and

went to urgent care. They ran tests, thought it might be my

gallbladder and my liver enzymes were elevated.

Extensive bloodwork, GI visit and biopsy followed. I've always had

bouts of insomnia and my son has had severe psych issues in the past

6 months. I thought the fatigue, brain fog and occasional headaches

were stress-related.

In the past month, more family stress and we moved last week. This

past week, the exhaustion has hit me very hard; I've been dizzy 5/7

days (b.p. has been a little low, but nothing drastic). My eczema

has spread and I've been itching a lot this past month as well.

I'm waiting to start treatment/hopefully before June. Prior to the

past 6-9 months, I have always been a very energetic person.

Robin
