Liz, Thank you for doing that. I have a feeling she did not get the answer she wanted from us. Although many answered her. What I think she was asking was for us to say. Yeah go ahead and do it. I could not in good faith do that. (I am not a mind reader, but just based on my feelings). I for one just don't tell people what to do with their time, energy, money or life for that matter. It is all up to the individual on whether they want to make that kind of investment in a unproven treatment. *smile* Yes, I am pretty much sold on western medicine, since it worked for me. But those that have tried other treatments such as and found that it worked for him, Well I am very happy for him. But in my defense, I probably would never be able to afford to go to China, and live

there for the duration of treatment. And I think that you would really have to be there to get the freshest of the products that got, have his doctor to monitor the therapy and so forth. But there are some treatments out there and I do not say this lightly, that are as one of our members said are listed on the quack watch. And they are quack cures. As my big brother always says to me, Janet you were born in the morning but not this morning. LOL You can substitute night if you were born at night. Some people will try to see you anything and some people buy into the hoopla because they are so desperate for a cure. Either they have been scared off of conventional medicines because of treatment stories, or they simply can not afford the high cost of treatment due to economic circumstances. And it is in my opinion

sad, that people will take advantage of a person when their guard is down. Okay that is my rant for today. I get into these moods sometimes and I just have to speak my mind. Gotta love me. Nicely put , there are lots of false cures out there . And a heck of alot of companies that will take advantage of the fact that a person is sick . It's these kinds of false promises that can destroy a persons will to fight the disease . I think that if there was an alternate way to cure hepatitis it would be shouted from the roof tops ! LOL

Liz, except for the word "alternative", which I assume is aimed at everything that is not FDA approved, I would think you were talking about Interferon treatment. False promises being given by doctors carry a lot of weight in America. ie "This is your best hope." without telling you that it might make your life worse. Your recent post said that three times you tried treating, and all it did was worsen your situation. So far there is no cure for HCV, alternative or other. The fact that Interferon based therapy is slightly better than a placebo, hardly qualifies it as a cure. If there were less side effects, it would probably be much more successful. The fact that every patient has to be made aware that the "treatment" has many possible side effects, effectively scares most people into doubting themselves, thier doctors, and the treatment. This fear and doubt most certainly has an effect on

the outcome. You've posted information showing the decline in quality of life for HCV patients after treatment. How can doctors prescribe this treatment if they take the hypocratic oath seriously? Maybe they believe what they tell scared patients, maybe they are just less informed than the public wants to believe. Shouted from the rooftops... was Interferon shouted from the rooftops? No, they were marketed into multi million dollar a year positions by drug companies and thier lobbyists. For every person who only believes in "modern" medicine, I hope that when a cure is found, that the drug companies can't buy the patent and bury it so that they can continue treating symptoms and making money. Each time I treated I made informed decisions . I would gladly trade off a little quality of life so that I can watch my children all grow up . I know a heck of allot more people who have cleared the virus with interferon types of treatments than eastern medicines . Your the only person I have ever become acquainted with who cleared using alternative treatment. Its not always about money , allot of doctors genuinely care for their patients and believe they have a chance to clear the virus despite the risks of side effects and long term sides .

And I am sure most people would trade "a little quality of life so that" they too could live longer and watch thier children grow up. But what do you consider "a little"? Sure, Interferon clears the virus. So what! It also damages the body in the process, and many people do not achieve sustained response. You do not know the effectiveness of the Chinese herbal treatment, because nothing is published in the US concerning results obtained here. China is still very secretive about many things. She said she could prevent me from needing a liver transplant for 50 years. Would that have been good enough for you? LOL How do you feel about eating bugs Tim? I think it was that or falling in love that reduced my viral load so dramatically. You asked: "does feeling great mean im helping my liver and clearing?" I would have to say no. Example, a back rub feels great, but probably does nothing for your liver. On the other hand, I think feeling great and living with HCV is better than treating with Interferon and suffering the sometimes fatal side effects. But that's just me. Seriously Tim, you should have a knowledgable person advising you, and monitoring your treatment. There are good naturapaths in the US. I am sorry that you had bad experiences with western doctors. I said before that I am not a mind reader. But I seem to kind of get that general impression from you. But with my experience with treatment. I actually am feeling better having treatment. My quality of life has became better and I do feel like I can live long enough to see my 10 year old daughter make it to medical school and even become a doctor. I have a excellent doctor who kept me informed and made me a partner in my treatment. We discussed everything even the power of positive thinking,prayer in healing. So my experience with treatment with interferon has been a positive one. Yes the first time I treated I was a non responder. But the second time I was undetectable at 12 weeks, 24 weeks and 48 weeks. Having said that. I understand that your treatment has shown that it worked for you. And I
