After meeting with my DAN I realized she wasn't big on the anti-virals and

we didn't have time to go over it in our 2nd meeting. So I was gathering

information to try and convince her and in the meantime I met with Dr. Buie our

GI. He is very familiar with all of the DAN protocals and attends conferences

but is not a DAN (he recommended me to my DAN). I spoke with him about Stan and

his son and said I wanted to reduce the viral load before starting chelation.

He said that was a smart idea. I told him the mgs and the protocal. He said he

wouldn't put CJ on it forever but 750mg per day was okay for CJ and gave me a 3

month prescription with liver testing in one month. I told him the way he could

prescribe it for me was to say CJ had chronic cold sores in the throat causing

acid reflux. He was really great about it. I didn't think he would do it but

he agreed with everything I said. Just use the information in the files section

and talk about how you child would benefit from this treatment. Good

bustle of getting ready for school I'm not sure if they were there when woke up.

I did check his torso when I dressed him but sadly didn't pay attention to his

face. Bad Mommy!! Anyway can this be from Valtrex already or should I watch

because it may be something else. Should I have brought him home? If he breaks

out in a viral die off rash is he contagious (my titers when pregnant came back

a big fat ZERO across the board twice!!!  They retested thinking there was an

error the first time).  Can I get sick from it or can other kids? Should have

thought of this before we started LOL Kerrie

I did not get him viral testing. He regressed into Autism after the MMR

(further after the thimerosal vaccs too)and has had numerous post viral

regressions after, so I know he is a viral kid. I told Dr. Buie the dosages

Stan was using for his son and he looked it up and said it was appropriate for

CJ's weight. CJ is 6years old and 48lbs. CJ is the 1st patient he has

prescribed it for I believe. I was praising Stan and all the work and

information he has compiled. Since Buie is doing the study on measles in the

body he fully understands the viral load of these kids. We have already started

and things are going well. I hope this helps.-

Hi ,

Dr. Buie is my son's GI doc too! You must live around here in my state! I spoke with Dr. Buie about antivirals in January, Nick had an endoscopy and colonoscopy. Nick is 15 years old, autistic. Social, but not academic. Nick had a kidney transplant 2 years ago. Dr. Buie found lymphoid tissue in his stomach and colon, did not test for CMV or EBV, we spoke about the antivirals, he wanted to look into the tests more because Nick is immunosuppressed and prone to infections. His yeast is picking up a bit. We have done the genetic tests to see how his liver enzymes will process meds. He definately has some genetic mutations that makes him prone to sideeffects of some meds. The doctors have had to be patient . Nick responded badly to Nexium - lost 10 pounds in a month, but is OK on prilosec. All of Nick's autoimmune markers are now normal due to the prograf and cellcept for his transplant. Nick had autoimmune markers to his brain, kidney, thyroid, joints. MGH is watching him closely for any additional viral infections since the transplant, he is fine. His bloodwork is great, his viral testing , so far, is fine. I do think he has something latent in his system. He used to have lowgrade fevers everyday until they upped his prednisone dose to 7.5 a day. He did have very low vit D levels which we have increased up to normal blood levels. We are speaking with our DAN doctor about the antivirals again. Nick was on Valtrex for 3 months post transplant and was like a new kid. No anxiety, eye contact, happy, after we went off the antiviral, it took a few months, but Nick regressed back. I cannot get transplant or neurology at MGH to give valtrex again. Dr. Buie was hoping his bloodwork would show something, he does beleive in the therapies but all the other departments closely watch Nick and I guess they might question why he was on Valtrex without an obvious infections.

I am meeting a new DAN doctor in May, she does do antivirals. Who do you see in the Boston area? Presently, l see Dr. Hardy and am interviewing with Dr. Hubbach in May. I would be interested to know who you see in case I do not like Dr. Hubbach. I really need a courageous Doctor.

I know alot of people did not like Dr. Edelson in Atlanta. He is retired now. My kids were a patient of Dr. Edelson's before he retired. He figured out so much of the big picture with them. Testing when others did not have the guts. He recommended that we get Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO or indemnity because they will pay for the treatments. It was the best thing we ever did. BC/BS has paid tens of thousands of dollars for testing, medication and services pertaining to autism.

Anyway, good to hear from a local family. By the way, have you spoken with Dr. Buie in the last few week? He and his wife adopted a baby boy! I bought him a baby gift, but I need to check on his size before I drop it off.

, Dr. Buie no doubt understands the viral issues, but does he serve as the primary treatment doctor for your child? It sounds like he does from your post. We have a GI doctor who has recently begun to consult with Dr. Krigman on her patients with autism. She is now doing a great job with scopes, but not managing the patient as a whole. Nur,

I call regression loss of skills and I haven't seen any of those. In fact

there's been an increase of skills. Plus my son is all of a sudden interested

in different movies. Like Home Alone, I'm not sure how great that is, but it's

refreshing not to still be on Toy Story and the younger preschool stuff like

Blue's clues. He has increased visual stimming on some days. But I think that

just means it might be in the brain already doing it's job. His regression has

just been the viral signs like, runny nose, fever, croupe cough that are now

mostly gone. I'm waiting for the rashes. CJ has a ton on GI issues too which

are all clearing up for the most part. I attribute MB-12 (some yeast die off),

floradix (bloated belly gone), nystatin (formed poops), milk thistle (sleeping

better/liver support), zinc (no more mouthing), and pro-biotics (helps keep the

formed stools while using nystatin). And of course food avoidance and rotation.

Nur,

Hi, I live in Andover. Is Dr. Hubbach the one in Newton or Brookline?? I

go in Englander. I saw Buie two weeks ago, he didn't tell me about the baby.

That's great. But of course I went there with a mission, a valtrex mission. I

took advice he gave to parents on an interview at DAN that they should try to

cut their agendas down for their main stream Docs to one thing. So I did with

him. I think he's going to be conservative about the valtrex. He want's to see

me back in a month to check liver. I don't know how long he will let me do it.

I would at least talk to him about it and see what he says. He has to be so

careful right now there are not many Docs that see both sides and are able to

stay there. The battle lines between biomed and mainstream have increased

recently and main stream is on a mission to discredit any biomed routes as

crazy. I wish everyone could just open their minds a bit and let the

information flow in. Good luck, I hope all goes well with you son. The good

thing about valtrex is that it's a main stream med and probably more able to get

a prescription in the main stream world.

system. He used to have lowgrade fevers everyday until they upped his prednisone

dose to 7.5  a  day. He did have very low vit D levels which we have increased

up to normal blood levels. We are speaking with our DAN doctor about the

antivirals again. Nick was on Valtrex for 3 months post transplant and was like

a new kid. No anxiety, eye contact, happy, after we went off the antiviral, it

took a few months, but Nick regressed back. I cannot get transplant or neurology

at MGH to give valtrex again. Dr. Buie was hoping his bloodwork would show

something, he does beleive in the therapies but all the other departments

closely watch Nick and I guess they might question why he was on Valtrex without

an obvious infections.   I am meeting a new DAN doctor in May, she does do

antivirals. Who do you see in the Boston area? Presently, l see Dr. Hardy

and am interviewing with Dr. Hubbach in May. I would be interested to know who

you see in case I do not like Dr. Hubbach. I really need a courageous Doctor.  I

know alot of people did not like Dr. Edelson in Atlanta. He is retired

now. My kids were a patient of Dr. Edelson's before he retired. He figured out

so much of  the big picture with them. Testing when others did not have the

guts.  He recommended that we get Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO or indemnity

because they will pay for the treatments. It was the best thing we ever did.

BC/BS has paid tens of thousands of dollars for testing, medication and services

pertaining to autism.  Anyway, good to hear from a local family. By the way,

have you spoken with Dr. Buie in the last few week? He and his wife adopted a

baby boy! I bought him a baby gift, but I need to check on his size before I

My son has 3 doctors. Pedi, GI (Buie), and a DAN. There is too much

information for my pedi to absorb but he is willing to stand by and let me try

the DAN approach. He (pedi)books me a whole hour every six months. CJ was the

only child to regress into Autism in his care so he allows me a little more

leeway. I just got in to see Buie this fall after my pedi pulled some strings,

I used to have another one. He did endosocopy, colonoscopy and scope. But

unfamilar with the whole Autism approach did little else to help but find no

parasites, etc and scope revealed acid reflux, enflamed throat and gut, low iron

and genetic lactose intolerance. Since researching for 4 years I know the roads

I want to take now. I just hope all the Dr.s can go along with me.

Dr. Buie about antivirals in January, Nick had an endoscopy and colonoscopy. Nick is 15 years old, autistic. Social, but not academic. Nick had a kidney transplant 2 years ago. bloodwork is great, his viral testing , so far, is fine. I do think he has something latent in his system. He used to have lowgrade fevers everyday until they upped his prednisone dose to 7.5 a day. He did have very low vit D levels which we have increased up to normal blood levels. We are speaking with our DAN doctor about the antivirals again. Nick was on Valtrex for 3 months post transplant and was like a new kid. No anxiety, eye contact, happy, after we went off the antiviral, it took a few months, but Nick regressed back. I cannot get transplant or neurology at MGH to give valtrex again. I know alot of people did not like Dr. Edelson in Atlanta. He is retired now. My kids were a patient of Dr. Edelson's before he retired. He figured out so much of the big picture with them. Testing when others did not have the guts. He recommended that we get Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO or indemnity because they will pay for the treatments. It was the best thing we ever did. BC/BS has paid tens of thousands of dollars for testing, medication and services pertaining to autism. Anyway, good to hear from a local family. What is CJ's dose? My is about 105 lbs,so we would probably just double that as I am waiting for a call from our pedi to see if she will rx it for us. Good Morning,

I used to go to Andover alot to see a massage therapist! I think Dr. Hubbach is in Newton. My cranial osteopath, Dr. Jayne , in Bridgewater, knows her well and says see has been practicing environmental medicine for decades. She is listed on the DAN site. Dr. did some incredible work with Nick from a cranial sacral aspect. She straightened all his teeth, rounded out his head, totally corrected his toe walking, and helps with some emotional release. She was the only doc who could correct my older sons soccer injuries. He had a displaced sternam with two broken ribs ajoining the sternam and a level three concussion.

Dr. Buie is careful as he does indeed walk between both the conventional and the biomed paths. I would not hesitate to go see Dr. Usman in Illinois. I met her a few years back and she is not completely immursed in the biomed. I have a standing appointment with Dr. Yasko in Maine. We did her genetics testing, I had already done half of those tests with other doctors, but I look forward to organizing my time to get a complete assessment from her. I do have her DVD's and tapes to learn from and her books too, so if anyone wants to borrow them, I would be willing to mail them out, so long as they are returned.

Dr. Martha Herbert is helpful from a research aspect, but not from a prescriptive aspect. My children's kidney failure really put a fast stop to many of our treatments. The IVIG bought Nick some time before kidney failure, too late for . I do beleive that the viruses are the core problem for the autoimmune disease, Nick's transplant meds stopped the damage from the autoimmunity, but the undercause is still there. Dr. Riviello at Childrens called the other day and spoke about brain inflammation being investigated by conventional neurology as the cause of ideopathic epilepsy. Inflammation caused by autoimmune or viral causes. He said he almost fell off his chair when the presented mentioned the same autoantibodies that Nick and had. I am making an appointment at his Lexington,Mass office to follow this up. He is a progressive neurologist who will try therapies that most doctors will not.

He is a dear friend and a great doctor.

Dr. Riviello at Childrens called the other day and spoke about brain inflammation being investigated by conventional neurology as the cause of ideopathic epilepsy. Inflammation caused by autoimmune or viral causes. He said he almost fell off his chair when the presented mentioned the same autoantibodies that Nick and had. I am making an appointment at his Lexington,Mass office to follow this up. He is a progressive neurologist who will try therapies that most doctors will not.

He is a dear friend and a great doctor.

I do have her DVD's and tapes to learn from and her books too, so if anyone wants to borrow them, I would be willing to mail them out, so long as they are returned. Dr. Martha Herbert is helpful from a research aspect, but not from a prescriptive

aspect. My children's kidney failure really put a fast stop to many of our treatments. The IVIG bought Nick some time before kidney failure, too late for . I do beleive that the viruses are the core problem for the autoimmune disease, Nick's transplant meds stopped the damage from the autoimmunity, but the undercause is still there. I go in Englander.  I saw Buie two weeks ago, he didn't tell me about the baby. 

That's great.  But of course I went there with a mission, a valtrex mission.  I

took advice he gave to parents on an interview at DAN that they should try to

cut their agendas down for their main stream Docs to one thing.  So I did with

him.  I think he's going to be conservative about the valtrex.  He want's to see

me back in a month to check liver.  I don't know how long he will let me do it. 

I would at least talk to him about it and see what he says.  He has to be so

careful right now there are not many Docs that see both sides and are able to

stay there.  The battle lines between biomed and mainstream have increased

recently and main stream is on a mission to discredit any biomed routes as

crazy.  I wish everyone could just open their minds a bit and let the

information flow in.  Good luck, I hope all goes well with you son.  The good

thing about valtrex is that it's a main stream med and probably more able to get

a prescription in the main stream world.

up to normal blood levels. We are speaking with our DAN doctor about the

antivirals again. Nick was on Valtrex for 3 months post transplant and was like

a new kid. No anxiety, eye contact, happy, after we went off the antiviral, it

took a few months, but Nick regressed back. I cannot get transplant or neurology

at MGH to give valtrex again. Dr. Buie was hoping his bloodwork would show

something, he does beleive in the therapies but all the other departments

closely watch Nick and I guess they might question why he was on Valtrex without

an obvious infections.   I am meeting a new DAN doctor in May, she does do

antivirals. Who do you see in the Boston area? Presently, l see Dr. Hardy

and am interviewing with Dr. Hubbach in May. I would be interested to know who

you see in case I do not like Dr. Hubbach. I really need a courageous Doctor.  I

know alot of people did not like Dr. Edelson in Atlanta. He is retired

now. My kids were a patient of Dr. Edelson's before he retired. He figured out

so much of  the big picture with them. Testing when others did not have the

guts.  He recommended that we get Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO or indemnity

because they will pay for the treatments. It was the best thing we ever did.

BC/BS has paid tens of thousands of dollars for testing, medication and services

pertaining to autism.  Anyway, good to hear from a local family. By the way,

have you spoken with Dr. Buie in the last few week? He and his wife adopted a

baby boy! I bought him a baby gift, but I need to check on his size before I

We're doing 750mg split 3x per day, just as Stan did.

support), zinc (no more mouthing), and pro-biotics (helps keep the formed stools

while using nystatin).  And of course food avoidance and rotation.  I hope this
