Guest guest
Missy - you sound really good. I often get the "look" from other people about and the way he behaves. But i also feel great when he behaves SOOOOO much better than some nt kids. He does have some understanding of right and wrong - bit hit and miss but it is there. And sometimes, it's the grown ups who need educated. Kids can be horrid, but you can try to explain. Grown ups just don't seem to want to know. And yo're right - people are missing out on some great kids when they make these kind of comments about ours. Wouldn't change for the world. Guest guest
My favorite was a mom who made up cards that said " You have noticed my daughter's behavior. I have noticed yours. Guest guest
Oh, Amnesty - i wish I'd had that phrase last Sunday at church. Will remember it! I kind of feel for the family of the guy i challenged - I really went off on one at him. He constantly nags his very well behaved kids and even smacked one of them SOOOO hard in the middle of church one Sunday. (yes - slapped HARD, with other adults watching him) The kids don't have a prob - it's the parent. I feel strongly that ALL kids are special - those with asd, any kind of disability, or nt kids. But some adults just don't see it that way. I'm not usually the kind of person who says "I've been chosen by somebody higher to look after this child". But after last weekend, I'm glad it's somebody like me who has . We try as hard as we can to help live in a normal world, even tho his behaviour can be challenging. Oh - i could go on and on.................. But i won't. Time to get everybody up and ready for school. Only another week till the holidays!!!
