Guest guest
hey, join the crowd. I've been doing almost six years trying to get my grandson to eat SOMETHING. He's been GF/CF for along time, but I've not been able to go to SCD because he won't eat veggies and only chiken that I make a special way--in the meat dept. he used to heat a burger I made every day, but now switched to chicken. He's in the 5th % for height for his age and hasn't gained apound in 2 years. You're not alone. Guest guest
Some people argue about my approach, but I think it's very easy. I have not had a problem getting kids into the diet at my school and I've probably done it... maybe with 100 kids by now. The first thing to do is get an IGG Food Panel asap. Second, get zinc into him (some people suggest 25mg +1 mg/kg body wieght) or on him (zinc cream by Kirkman). Zinc help the gut and the body in many ways and if you are short on zinc, kids tend to be picky eaters. Third, get him on an antifungal. Most of the food addiction comes from the fungus. Fungus creates toxins, sugar... and ???? take a guess... Fungus + sugar =???? OK, I just visited Napa Valley a few months ago so it's an easy answer.... ALCOHOL. Yep, it's true. These kids are intoxicated. Think about it. Not paying attention, lethargic or hyper, aggressive, poor eye contact, motor issues, low glutathione, high testosterone (alcohol lowers glutathione and raises testosterone... hense the bar fights)... so if you were a little drunk baby, you'd want to stay drunk. Quite a hangover you'd have if you stopped after a couple of years of drinking. So thier instinct is to stay intoxicated, because the alternative... detoxing... is not fun. If you look at Elaine Gottschall's book, Breaking the Vicious Cycle or watch the tribute video I made of her work on www.recoveryvideos.com she mentions this as well. Fourth, stop feeding the fungus and bacteria. Stop the Milk and Wheat Product. Stop the complex carbs, pasta, rise, etc. That's a nice start if you can't go full blown SCD minus IGG Foods... which you should get on asap. Then buy a juicer. Costco has one for $99.00 (Jack LaLane Pro Juicer) or borrow a friends for a while. It has to be a real juicer, not a blender. Juice pear, apple, spinach and carrots. You can get some hazelnut milk and use some of that too. All of this tastes good and is nutritious and I hardly have any kids that won't drink it, especially when other kids around them drink it all the time (you may need to model the behavior a bit). I'm a big fan of juicing to get the foods you want in there. Otherwise, you can look closely and get a food your child likes that is not on the " makes alcohol " or " sets off my child's immune system " list and feed just that to start. If you have to feed pears for a couple of days, then fine. Have the guts to do it. I'm convinced that this poor food diet is somewhat of codependent issue. Your child likes it... and even though it's toxic you provide it for them, maybe because you feel guilty in some way, maybe because saying no doesn't feel loving for you, maybe because your child in the short term seems happier if you give them the toxins... I mean food --that they want. Remember, there is no such think as Junk Food. Just Junk... or Food. Feed their body, not their fungus and bacteria. Spend 10 minutes watching the Elaine Gottschall Tribute... spend a couple of hours reading her book " Breaking the Vicious Cycle. " Trust the IGG Food Allergy Test, start with my Caveman Diet if you'd like www.childrenscornerschool.com/diet.htm Once you set yourself out to do this, it gets easier every day. YOU ARE IN CONTROL of your child's diet. Just take the bad foods out of your house. It's that simple. Start on a Friday if you are worried about food outside of the house. If you do this 100% correctly with not cheating, it won't be long until your child is better... off the addiction, creating good bacteria, lessening the fungus and the mucus that lines the gut because of the fungus... and then the body and the brain will get nutrients like never before. Typically these kids start eating like crazy once their motabolism starts to turn on and food can now get through the intestinal wall. Taking care of the gut is probably the single most important thing you can do for your child. You can do it... if you really believe in it and you really want to. - Stan > > > > > > > > > > can somebody tell me any studies done on nasal MB12 or how you > > > know it works for > > > > you. Guest guest
One more thing, besides seeing that I spelled rice " rise " in my last post just after I pushed send (remember, I hardly proof read... I just couldn't keep up if I did). I'm also learning how a healthy gut and proper production of the body's digestive enzymes actually helps kill off viruses. It could be the reason why we see so many people do well in this group and why my son did very well. We were 100% strict on the diet. SCD minus IGG Food Allergies and then we started Valtrex. More and more I realize how important it really is... it's the foundation for every other therapy we do. - Stan

Guest guest
Stan, are you saying that without the scd diet your son would not have been healed? Is that diet that important in the recovery of our kids? How long after you started the diet did you notice the imporvements? How did you know it was the diet and not the valtrex, did you start them at 2 seperate times. I watched the video of Ethans recovery, is that your child? How old was he when he was diagnossed and then recovered. Right now my son is on the gfcf diet and his dan said that should be enough, but I want to try everything in my power to help him. All of this tastes good and is nutritious and I hardly have any kids that won't drink it, especially when other kids around them drink it all the time (you may need to model the behavior a bit). I'm a big fan of juicing to get the foods you want in there.Otherwise, you can look closely and get a food your child likes that is not on the "makes alcohol" or "sets off my child's immune system" list and feed just that to start. Just Junk... or Food. Feed their body, not their fungus and bacteria.Spend 10 minutes watching the Elaine Gottschall Tribute... spend a couple of hours reading her book "Breaking the Vicious Cycle." Trust the IGG Food Allergy Test, start with my Caveman Diet if you'd like www.childrenscornerschool.com/diet.htmOnce you set yourself out to do this, it gets easier every day. You can do it... if you really believe in it and you really want to.- Stan> > > > >> > > > > can somebody tell me any studies done on nasal MB12 or how you > > > know it works for > > > > you. Guest guest
Stan, I was interested in your thoughts on raw dairy vs. commercial pasteurized dairy for our kids? Since most of the dairy available to use is pasteurized and homogenized (which I agree is very bad for everyone, not just our kids), it's hard to say that it's the dairy vs. the processing that has been done to it that hurts the GI tract. I've read so much about how good raw dairy is for everyone with GI issues and autoimmune issues. Much of this is due to the fact that raw dairy has all of it's enzymes in tact and ready to help and repair an ill digestive system. I have been giving my son raw milk kefir for the last year and it has done an incredible job in healing his GI tract (no yeast or clostridia on the last OAT test). Also, the fermentation process makes all of the nutrients more bioavailable to the body. It's what all of our ancestors did to preserve foods in the old days.... Sheryl Re: signs of viral kids?/diet Some people argue about my approach, but I think it's very easy. Zinc help the gut and the body in many ways and if you are short on zinc, kids tend to be picky eaters.Third, get him on an antifungal. So thier instinct is to stay intoxicated, because the alternative... detoxing... is not fun. If you look at Elaine Gottschall's book, Breaking the Vicious Cycle or watch the tribute video I made of her work on www.recoveryvideos.com she mentions this as well.Fourth, stop feeding the fungus and bacteria. Stop the Milk and Wheat Product. Stop the complex carbs, pasta, rise, etc. That's a nice start if you can't go full blown SCD minus IGG Foods... which you should get on asap. Then buy a juicer. Guest guest
The more you feed with the bad foods, the worse your child will become IMO. If your child is starving you need to get the bad critters out. Juicing is the best way to sneak vegetables in. You can also freeze the juice in a pop if you had to. There are many ways to make the diets work. You shouldn't give up on your child's body just because you are afraid to limit them for a day or two. Kill off some of that fungus, give some zinc, stop feeding with starches, grains, and complex carbohydrates, and remove the IGG Food Allergies and your kids will quite often gain weight and get better. Rather than give up and/or throw a pitty party... if you want to change your child you need to change their food and gut health. There is no way around it IMO. - Stan > > > > > > > > > > can somebody tell me any studies done on nasal MB12 or how you > > > know it works for > > > > you. Guest guest
, I'm probably the worst business partner in the world right now related to autism. I've made a commitment to not take any revenue from families struggling with autism or chronic illness. I think that the need for money is what got us into this mess and that the opposite is the best hope to get us out. Maybe when my savings runs out I'll have to change my mind, but for now that's where I stand. - Stan > > STan could you please email me privately. I would like to talk about a > business opportunity. Guest guest
Hi Sheryl, There is certainly evidence that pateurizing and homogenizing makes milk worse for you. I equte it to frying food. But, why are we still talking about drinking cows milk anyway? I ask people all the time, " What are you trying to accomplish? " The answers are usually about Calcium and Vitamin D, and they can be found in much safer ways through other foods and dietary supplementation. Under a microscope, casien is a very complex, and often undigestible molecule.. there's no way around it --and undigsted food is fuel for bacterial and fungus in the intestines. Milk also very very commonly leaks out of the intestines if they are impaired (like with our kids). Just about every IGG Food Allergy Panel I have ever seen shows milk leaking. There is multiple times more (I think 10 times possibly more) casien in cows milk than human milk. Plus, all the hormones form the feed and the immune programming... I personally don't want the immune system of a cow whose intestines are much longer than ours and their immune system is drastically different. Lastly, Harvard did a study on children in third world countries who never drink milk and compared their bone density with kids in the US and found they were practically identical. I'm not saying our kids don't need calcium, but maybe it's not as critical every day as we think it is. Ok, one really last thought. If you could get calcium from rat poison... would you feed it to your child? Probably not, but cows milk is poison for most of our kids... and yet it goes on every day. If you add to that that we are the only mamal that drinks another mamals milk on the planet, and that milk is a cheap multi-billion dollar industry... it's clear, at least to me, why the push to drink another animals milk exists. I have a nice two page review of the medical literature that supports milk as being a persistant problem for human health. It's called " Not Milk " and it's in the Files section of this group. Basically, I wouldn't go running out and buying a cow as a family pet at this point. Just supplement the body in healthy natural ways. - Stan > > > > > > > > > > > > can somebody tell me any studies done on nasal MB12 or how you > > > > know it works for > > > > > you. Guest guest
Stan, Regarding Zinc- I've been hearing from Klinghardt plus several others than too much Zinc actually makes Mercury more toxic. We dropped out 40 mg. of zinc down to 20 mg after that. Plus- it seemed despite the "throw more zinc in " solution that our DAN doc was offering- my son's Copper/zinc problem wasn't improving. What are your thoughts on giving small doses of copper to a kid with low zinc/high copper on rbc results. ? There are a group of doc's out there that think this might be key. OK- I'm sorry to beat a dead horse- but now I'm intrigued because of your experience with introducing this diet... eats every day: nutbutter/fruit preserve on rice bread sandwich fruit(banana/apple/pear/grapes/raison/applesauce) carbs including rice cake/chips/ fries he drink's water mostly- occasional diluted juice. Maybe 1 x week- he will eat home made fried chicken nuggets. Other than that- I can barely get him to touch something- successful only when he is quickly chucking the food off his plate. So you have a picture now in your head of I looked at the Caveman website-and I have BVC book. So what do I feed him? He ate the chicken nuggets and egg/squash pancakes and applesauce every day for about 3 weeks in February. Initial improvements in stools etc- but then after 2 weeks......stools increased in frequency.....and he became so self abusive. Still not expanding his diet. So what should I feed him? Pears for a couple days? ok. Apples too- peeled. ok.But what next? I was so hopeful the first go around with scd- but the self abuse freaked me out. it was really bad. I never ever rewarded the head bangs...I pretended they didn't happen- so I wasn't reinforcing it ......but that didn't matter because it wasn't about avoidance or whatever- it was something inside him..all him..... Are we assuming that if we empty our entire pantry /fridge and stock with only scd allowed foods....that at some point he will begin to eat?? What's the longest you've seen a kid go without eating ? I'd like to have a number in mind to get through the rough times. We do have a juicer- I'll pull it out again. Thanks for your help. I'll talk to our HMD about diflucan. We didn't have him on diflucan when we tried scd last time........you think that will help? How long do you recommend they stay on diflucan ?Dose? Use to be on 50 mg daily.Been off antifungals for almost a year now. They helped while on them- but it was never permanent. Do you think we're under dosing zinc? ?He's on 20 mg tab 1 x day plus I think there are 10 mg in his multi that he takes daily. Plus he gets 1 fluid oz of fulvic minerals daily. I really appreciate your detailed responses. You must be busy...and I just really thank you for your time. What are your thoughts on the self abuse that appeared to be induced by this diet? Yasko talked about high protein being a problem for a sub group- causing similar problems. Sincerely, Beth Re: signs of viral kids?/diet Some people argue about my approach, but I think it's very easy. Zinc help the gut and the body in many ways and if you are short on zinc, kids tend to be picky eaters.Third, get him on an antifungal. So thier instinct is to stay intoxicated, because the alternative... detoxing... I'm a big fan of juicing to get the foods you want in there.Otherwise, you can look closely and get a food your child likes that is not on the "makes alcohol" or "sets off my child's immune system" list and feed just that to start. Just Junk... You can do it... if you really believe in it and you really want to.- Stan> > > > >> > > > > can somebody tell me any studies done on nasal MB12 or how you > > > know it works for > > > > you. Guest guest
Hi Maurine- So you've tried SCD- and he never would expand diet? Or you haven't tried because his limited diet on gfcf makes you feel certain he wouldn't eat if you tried scd? Just trying to get a picture. thanks. beth Re: signs of viral kids? Egg is a very common allergen in our kids... specifically known to cause headaches. I bet if you did an IGG Food Panel you'd see high markers for egg white.... which is what is used in vaccines to modulate the strength of the virus.... coincidence, I'm sure.- Stan> > > >> > > > can somebody tell me any studies done on nasal MB12 or how you > > know it works for > > > you. Guest guest
Hi Beth, the second one-worried he won't eat because of such a limited diet and he is so tiny-but I know in my heart that the diet he's on now is making him not get better. I do have a bigger problem tho-altho he spends an unbelievable amount of time with me and totally attached to me-and i handle all hisbio-meds-he still lives during the week with his mother who is totally unwilling to do any of this-and not very interested I might add-so he would hve to be living with me to do this-well today I allowed only water and no sugar treats and I think it makes such a difference-altho he had 2 slices of GF bread well enuf said thanks for e-mailing MaurineJOSEPH ACREE <acree603@...> wrote: Hi Maurine- So you've tried SCD- and he never would expand diet?
