OT - MOV brewed like SCOBY

While I was anxiously trying to figure out how to obtain my first

kombucha culture I tried using my MOV in brewed tea to see if it would

make kombucha. I brewed the MOV for 4 or more generations before

deciding to stop because once I got a cultured SCOBY from my nieghbor

and brewed real kombucha and was able to compare the two, I really

could tell a difference. It was an experiment that Dom encouraged me to

try. I had little to lose. I have allowed that brew to turn to

vinegar.
