Sometimes with Fragile X there are little or no physical features and that happens when there is an average or above average IQ.I think the biggest reason for knowing which it is is just that, to know. To know if it is a genetic condition that will be passed on someday and who know there may be some alternate treatments.

Well, Aspergers is also basically able to be transported in genetics as well as ADHD is as well. I am ADHD, my dad is also, and , my son , is ASPERGERS AND ADHD. I believe my dad is also Aspergers. In any case, most of these things we do or can inherit.

I just do not think I would get my son tested for Fragile X, as to me, he is being treated for symptoms and not a label. I would not pay for testing anyway, unless my insurance paid for most of it. My son is now 16 though, so we have lived with his problems a long time now.
