Guest guest
Hi Dr. Grim and All,Where is AVS calculator located? According to labs, ACTH was used but I can call the IR dr and double check with her. I walked out of appt. w/ nephrologist knowing I wouldn't be back. Got all my records & CT scan. Nephrologist had no idea I had been in hospital last weekend w/ low K, didn't know his associate in his very own practice had advised ER Dr to put me on K drip or doubled my Inspra to 50mg. My BP was so low today his nurse couldn't get a read in either arm, so she made something up for my chart! Yikes! I'm putting in a grievance with my insurance and now have an appointment w/ my regular dr to start process of getting referrals all over again. Oh, and nephrologist said I would need to see urologist next be/c that is who would do surgery to remove tumor--I questioned him on this and asked why it wouldn't be an endocrinologist. He said it would be urologist because it has to do with my kidneys and kidney surgery. So, if anyone in this group is in Southern California and has a referral for a doctor, I'd much appreciate it. I'm out here, feeling wretched on what feels like too much Inspra, have no idea what my K levels are at (will have my regular dr check on Monday) and just feel like I'm on my own. Guest guest
Dr. Grim, what can you tell from a one sided AVS? I thought you had to get both sides correctly so you could compare them. > > > Hi All, > > > > Got results from AVS today: > > > > side with tumor > > cortisol 13.5 ug/dl > > aldosterone 626 > > renin activity .19 > > ACTH 8 > > > > IVC (be/c IR doctor couldn't get sample from right adrenal vein, remember?) > > aldosterone 24 > > renin .23 > > cortisol 5.8 > > > > Thoughts? > > > > Monika > > ACTH 6 > > > > >
