Guest guest
I have been off Spiro for 1 week now leading up to an AVS procedure. My blood pressure went up for the first couple of days, but now it has settled at an average of 118/78! I ate high salt on Saturday due to my daughter's B-day. No budge on the blood pressure on Sunday or today. This morning my readings were 118/78, 108/76, and 112/79. It seems that my BP has been lower off of Spiro vs when I took 50mg per day. Is there an explanation for this? My diet has been almost exactly the same. In addition to not taking Spiro, I discontinued 1000 IU Vitamin D each day. I am now wondering why BP is normal. I am wondering if I even have PA at all. Do I still need an AVS? If I have PA, why would my BP be lower off of Spiro? When I e-mailed my doctor, he shrugged it off and just told me to be thankful that my BP is controlled off of Spiro. He told me to go through with the AVS to determine if surgery would be a cure. I am confused and expected BP to skyrocket off of the meds. 35 male. Diagnosed 04/2011. AVS scheduled 08/23. Tested for GRA - Negative.
