Nice story and typically sad delayed Dx. Did you have any problems with having to get up at night to pee? When was first low K found?See no mention of DASH and low sodium once Dx was made. Did they every try eplerenone?I recommend you use our AVS form to send us your AVS results and for you to have on file.So nothing at all showed up or scans? I would be happy to review them if you can send copy. I see stuff that others miss.Be certain to get path report for you and your family. On Jul 24, 2012, at 8:52 AM, wrote:

Thanks Meg!

Yours is the first story I've read that is local to me. I would love to have

your endocrinologist and surgeon's name/contract info. I have a 2cm adenoma and

have only been a medical mystery for 2 years :) but I live in Central NJ and

would like to use an expert in this field, not just anyone. The person I've

found via research is Dr. Reid, who practices out of and takes my

insurance, but I'd be very happy for a recommended doctor/surgeon!

private email is fine with me

Thanks!

Jill

(central NJ, 2cm adrenal adenomy found on CT scan after Renal Duplex ultrasound

showed good kidney function but " spots " on liver which turned out to be benign

hepatic hemangioma. Using 25 mg spiro, current pressures are 140/90 with, were

160/100 without).

Did you have any problems with having to get up at night to pee?Ha! Yes - at least twice a night (only average about 5 hours sleep though between my two boys) but I was used to getting up after being pregnant so early on with this I never saw the connection. When was first low K found?During a routine physical my primary doc mentioned my K was little low (3.4) and to eat more high K foods. That was my first clue that something was up because I knew I had a diet high in K already and no amount of additional foods was going to raise it to where it should be. I continued my research online and in publications and found the connection of BP and low K and I was experiencing almost EVERYTHING mentioned. The problem was I had a newborn at home and kept brushing everything off to that. See no mention of DASH and low sodium once Dx was made. Did they every try eplerenone?Yes. I didn't stress

that in my story because I was already practicing DASH and low sodium with my first high BP diagnosis. I work with a Dietitian who made sure I was staying within the recommended levels...and brought to my attention many items I had no idea were sodium packed - like milkshakes! LOL. Never tried eplerenone- I was nursing/pregnant so I'm not sure if it was contraindicated? So nothing at all showed up or scans? I would be happy to review them if you can send copy. I see stuff that others miss.Nothing. I have never seen the films and I don't have copies, but I plan to ask

for a copy of my file during my follow-up tomorrow. Thanks! From: Clarence Grim <lowerbp2@...> hyperaldosteronism Cc: Clarence Grim <lowerbp2@...> Sent: Tuesday, July 24, 2012 12:09 PM Subject: Re:

Hi Meg, thanks for sharing your story. Speaking from experience, I just wanted

to stress how important it is to really take it easy with the lifting while your

incisions are still healing - I managed to injure my incisions about 4 weeks

after my surgery by throwing caution to the wind, and I think the pain was

almost as bad as the first few days after surgery! So don't follow my example :)
