I just did tae bo again for the first time since September this morning and I never realized how much I missed it and how much control it gave me. I'm also going to go on Fit America again-- I just can't stand this. I'm only 23 and I shouldn't be this overweight. Ok, that's my story luv >> Hi , Welcome to the group!! I am glad you have found Tae-Bo again! Which tapes do you do? Do you have any of the live tapes? Do you have Tae-Bo TV? Our situations are really similar! I am also 23. My highest weight (while pregnant) was 261. My highest non pregnant weight was 245. I am at 170 or maybe a little bit below right now. I murdered my scale and so I have been unable to weigh myself in a while. I can't believe all the weight in 6 months!! It has taken me over two years. If you don't mind me asking, what is Fit America? Anyway, I'll quit rambling! Welcome to the group. I am glad you found Tae-Bo again!! Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for the welcome. I do have the original tapes and the a couple basic live tapes but I'm doing the TV thing now. Although I have to admit the basic tape didn't seem to push me very much, suprsingly enough and I'm not sure if I should try an advanced session and just do whatever I can, for maximum benefit or stick with the basic. Let me know what you think. Congrats on the weight loss! It sounds like you are doing great. Fit America is plan that teaches you to eat while using herbal supplements to curb your appetite (mine is completely out of control-- I could literally eat all day at this point). Now I just hope I can stick to this-- I'd love to pull off the 21 day challange. And I too should murder my scale-- I just want back into my size 12 jeans and then go from there... but that is my first goal-- back to the size 12 which I was in at 175 lbs. And preferably by August bc I'm going to England for two weeks-- is that unrealistic?? Thanks again luv

I am not sure how the herbal stuff will effect you so maybe you can do it. But it may not be healthy. I know you don't want to hear this, but the slower you lose it the more likely you are to keep it off. Maybe try focusing on doing your Tae-Bo everyday and try not to worry too much about the numbers on the scale <<Although I have to admit the basic tape didn't seem to push me very much, surprisingly enough and I'm not sure if I should try an advanced session and just do whatever I can, for maximum benefit or stick with the basic. Just make sure you work at your own pace so you don't hurt yourself. Don't be afraid to " walk it out " when you need to. I have been doing the advanced tapes lately because my rear end needs the floorwork-badly!! Give the advanced a try and let us know how it goes. Maybe try focusing on doing your Tae-Bo everyday and try not to worry too much about the numbers on the scale You are right and I do know that. I'm just sick of being the size that I am-- and it isn't pounds more then inches bc of Tae Bo. I know I'll lose inches while putting on weight bc of muscle mass being differently. We'll see how it goes-- and technically its 3 1/2 months since I'm not going until the 18th.. but who's counting!!! When you say that the basic doesn't push you enough, do you mean that it is not challenging? If that is the case, give the advanced a try. I mean I was out of breath but I definetly feel like I could do more. I think I'll try the advancedi n the morning and like you said just walk it out when I need to. I know I don't have to the whole thing but can mold it to the level I feel I'm at so that might be a good idea. Guest guest
, Thanks for the tips. It just seemed suprsing to me since I haven't worked out since September that the basic just didn't seem to do much for me. What are the TV advance workouts like? I used to be able to get through the first live advanced tape so i'm wondernig what its like compared to that. I know you are right about not setting to many goals. I'm just so excited about this trip to the UK in August-- 2 1/2 weeks and a two major music festivals. Not to mention my having fallen for one of my friends over there. So I just want to do as much " damage " as possible between now and then. I'm also going over either Memorial Day or 4th of July weekend for just a few days-- but I know there won't be much change between now and then. Guest guest
Hello Well, it looks like you'll fit right in here. We have two flute players ( and LV) and I'm sure they'll talk to you more about that as soon as they see your message! OH YEAH! I need to find an instructor at a reasonable price in the NYC/Brooklyn area and my new Yamaha 385 is coming in the mail next week. Also, we have some people on this list from England (3 I think...but there might be more) and they are very friendly and will probably have loads of advice for you as well. Oh don't even tease me like this. I would sweep people's floors if it meant I could get a work visa and move there. I miss my friends dearly when I'm away. They visit me I go and visit them... its quite hysterical. My friends here and theirs there think we are all crazy the way we fly around seeing eachother and chasing the Charlatans around. The Charlatans brought us all together and we're like a little family now. And finally, there are many animal lovers on this list (especially cat lovers) so I'm sure you'll be able to talk about that, too. Cool! I can babble about my cats to no end! I consider myself more a dog person (I've got 3 of them) but, I've come around to the cats and have 2 of them, too! I had a German Sheppard growing up-- I just don't have the room for a dog right now. It's a regular zoo around here....LOL! When doing them without peeking, I guess you could have the tendency to pace yourself so well, not knowing what's coming that you can actually go too slow and not feel challenged when done Here is alittle tip when you feel that way... keep doing the following Advanced till you feel you have done enough then do your own cooldown & stretches Some Advances even have early stretches good to end on Barb who gave my husband such an Advanced to do explaining to stop after the stretches but he kept on going and thought I was trying to kill him cuz stretches to him meant Tai Chi

You could try adding the 8 minute workout onto the end of the basic tape. You could also add the floorwork from the advanced tape onto the end of the basic tape. Or, you could do 2 basic tapes back to back. It may just be that you are ready for the advanced, but don't be afraid to walk it out or modify. I have been doing tae- bo for almost a year and quite honestly, I rarely make it through and advanced tape without walking out at some point. Just take it at your own pace so that you stay in control of your workout. I know it's hard not to focus on the weight, but try not to put a deadline on your goals. Otherwise, you'll miss out on all the other benefits you'll get from tae-bo because you'll feel like you failed if you haven't lost x number of pounds by a certain date. Try to concentrate on what's going on inside of you and I promise the outside will fall into place

There have been some really TOUGH advanced workouts! But, I get a workout from all of them. I haven't had and easy tae-bo workout, yet....LOL! If you haven't worked out since September and just started back with the basic workout today. I might stick to the basic tapes for a few more days just so you can really focus on your technique and make sure today wasn't just a fluke that it was easy. If you do the basic for a few more days and it's still easy then start adding on or attempt the advanced!
