To recap, I was doing well on spironolactone until I had to stop due to gynecomastia. Since the VA allows me to see all my labs online I was able to go back and capture snapshots. What follows is: (range) 2 months prior to stopping spironolactone/off all MCB for 1 month/1 month on eplerenone. createnine (0.5-1.5) 1.05/.76/.88 eGFR (>60)71/103/87 BUN (7-25)21/12/16 Glucose(65-100)127/87/116 K+ (3.5-5.0)4.6/4.3/4.2 The comparison is not exactly equal because both spiro and epler dosages were 25mg bid. I just increased epler to 50mg bid so I will try to remember to update in a few months. BTW, BP was 127/67 and BS 111, it was 95 yesterday! FWIW department, draw your own conclusion! Guest guest
Hmm seems to me u are doing well on this dose. So I would not increase eplere as my goal at home is <135/<85. Taken properly. Guest guest
I'm humoring Dr. Webster at the moment! Flank & testis pain have become unbareable so I'm trying to shorten the 10 months that spiro took to resolve it! She also caught me at the end of a rough 2 weeks and new info re:agent orange! > > > With all the postings going on I thought it would be fun to share my experience.
