Guest guest
Ok, I've been sick today so I spent it lounging on my sofa eating soup & watching TV. I've seen this movie before - long ago when it first came out - but I popped it in today out of boredom ( " A Beautiful Mind " the life story of Nash) I can say that this movie didn't have near the impact on me the first time as it did this time. What a FABULOUS inspiration!! Now, yes, Nash was diagnosed as schizophrenic -- and that's not the same as OCD... however, it is still all in the mind, it is " false thoughts " , your mind playing tricks on you, etc. To think that this man, on his own, was able to control his thoughts & reactions to these " people " he would see & talk to - throughout his entire life, was amazing. It's very much like what I've read about OCD therapy. Train your brain to think of things in a different way & sooner or later, you will control it -- it won't control you. Again - what a FABULOUS movie. If you haven't seen it, go rent it. If you did long ago, go rent it again. It is well worth it & so relevant to what our kids are going through. It really shows the possible strength of the power of the mind. LT
