Guest guest
They actually make you approve it. They sit there with the evaluations and say (even though is clearly on the evaluation that he needs an IEP) that they can not help, its not their problem what im going through at home, if they dont see it there they cant do anything and then make you sign as they rush you out the door. The speech therapist gave me homework and told me to teach him at home. There are options, im going to call MA Advocate and/or try to go to special education or just plain out make a complaint and fight to get him back on his IEP > >> > >> > >> > >>>Hi my name is and i am new to this group. I have a 9 yr old son who has Aspergers, Adhd and bipolar. My problem lies at home. I recently lost his IEP with school because they feel they do not see the problems i have at home and feel its not the schools problem. I have tried all reward systems and strategies to help add structure in my home. No matter what i do i feel i am losing. My son is constantly angry, upset, he has low self-esteem and looks at things negatively. I myself have Adhd, Bipolar and PTSD and sometimes lose my patience when it gets hard. > >>> > >>>The Problem i have is when you ask him to do anything, whether its to go brush his teeth, get dressed or take a shower. Anything that makes him stop what he is doing to go do something he doesn't want to turns into a meltdown. The meltdowns are on an everyday basis. I dont understand why it is a struggle everyday when u know that you have to do these things everyday. Any Advice? Anything i can do to make the meltdowns stop? > >>> > >>> > >> > >> > > > > > > > > >
