Guest guest
Tood J to the Sugar Dr. today.......He was in the 400!!When this all started 3 months ago J was 159 pounds. Today he was 124!!!!!!! The Dr. wants to try 2 meds and keep a log of J's blood sugar from week to week. I am to take it in once a week. He wants to try this to see if it will lower his blood sugar......If not then J will have to have Insulin! Here is the name of the 2 drugs..... Glipizide and Actos. Has anyone ever heard of them or take them? J will have to take one at his day program so tomorow I am sending the info and then they can start it on friday. I hope he can handle the meds and that it helps him. Guest guest
An A1C is a blood test that they do overnight that tests his blood for the past 3 months its an average don't ask me how they can do all 3 months with one vial but that's what they do. If it is about 6 they start getting concerened - when I was diagnosed with Diabetes I ws 6.7 very mild and my blood tests at home were in the high 100's almost 200. I am not down to 5.7 on my A1C and my blood tests everyday are usually around 120 in the am and I don't test in the pm like I am supposed too. 5 is what they want to see. I am on Actos which makes me gain weight and Januvia which has it's own issues. I got 25 lbs off and my numbers have decreased to what they are now now I am struggling to get the rest of the weight off. Guest guest
Lois Just found out something cool today so I thought I would share it with you. Short history here I am having a tremendous amount of trouble with my esophagus, stomach or whatever they are not sure so they sent me for an ultrasound today of my gallbladder. The tech quickly went over my pancreas and said do you have diabetes and I said yes a mild case how did you know and he said I can't tell you so I said - so it looks different than a normal one and he said yes, but sometimes they look like this for a normal person too - covering his assets but it was kinda interesting.
