Guest guest
Hi Jeff, Congratulations!!!!!!!! That is awesome. I too have a zero viral load at week 24. My dr is recommending another year (maybe an additional 48 weeks) of treatment. Has your dr mentioned anything like that to you? So happy for you. Say hi to Sue for me. Guest guest
That is great news !!! Did Mila have any type of rib deformity (protruding ribs)? I am just curious if that resolves on its own as well. Landon is at a 25 degree curve and I am praying it is resolving as well. Tammy Mommy to: Landon 9 months ~ dx 6/27/07 w/ Idiopathic Infantile Scoliosis 25 degree curve Kylie Grace 24 months Kiersten 17 years Great News Hi all, Yesterday I brought Mila to her follow up appointment in Burlington, VT. 3 months ago she was diagnosed with a right thoracic 25 degree curve. Yesterday I saw the x-ray...she maybe has a 1 degree curve. It is almost totally straight. Unfortunatley the doctor did not have time to see her, even though we traveled from NY state and had the appointment for 3 months. But anyway, I am so glad the her spine has resolved on its own. Now we just have to keep working on the torticollis! I do have an appointment in Erie on Aug 13 that I will keep, just for peace of mind. Thanks for all of the support! Guest guest
Kezia, That is great news. Good idea to keep the appt. with Erie. Sorry you had to travel and they couldn't even give you the curteousy of seeing you at your schduled appointment time. Poor scheduling on their part. Guest guest
OMG the timing on this is SO perfect! On Saturday we had a family meeting about Isaac's Aspie issues and what we can do to enable him to not only deal with them but to thrive! I'm forwarding this to both my husband (who is a programmer for Google) and my son! We were looking at having write something, but why reinvent the wheel? Guest guest
A few months ago I asked several of you for help. I needed to know what three areas your child had the most trouble. You were all so helpful responding to that. My son, as you may remember was developing an app for the Android phone/tablet (iPhone/iPod/iPad coming soon) that teaches social and life skills to kids on the spectrum or are developmentally delayed. It is finally available! Right now it is just teaching brushing teeth, washing hands, and brushing hair. It is interactive and the child get points for each task they accomplish. Parents can add points if the child does it in real life. Parents can decide on a prize and how many points are needed to get there. Also parents can add as many children as they want, controlling each child's points and prizes. There are resources which include videos. An added feature is QR barcodes. You can get these barcodes at www.lifeskillswinner.com. You can put them at various stations and scan them and it will take you right to the task. The name of the app (Android right now) is Life Skills Winner and best of all this version is FREE! Parents can write into the site and give us feedback and let us know what tasks their child needs help in. Please check it out and let us know how you like it. Thanks for your help. By the way it was tested on his autistic sister, Marcy who was also a tester for the product and incharge of quality control. Robin
Guest guest
Robin, wow! That is so impressive! I love the text to speech and the interactive demonstration to reinforce the positive and independent emerging skills. The only thing I couldn't figure out was how to delete a name put in by accident. Also is there a way to slow down the speech part? I'm afraid it might be too fast for some of my kids in the class to understand. Please tell your son kudos! on this awesome app. I can't wait to try it on my ASD class tomorrow. Guest guest
Well, I don't even know what an app is (probably short for application?), however, I'll share this on other lists as it sounds good! Francine Speak with Him Thou for He hearest. Spirit with Spirit can speak. Closer is Love than breathing, Nearer than hands and feet. Guest guest
Thanks. I will ask him how to slow down the speech if possible. You could submit the form on wisemindstudios.com/smf and he could send you the instructions on how to do that. It is under usage. He isn't home right now otherwise I would ask him. Glad you like it, he really worked hard on it. Thanks for using it. More scenarios and tasks will be coming soon. Some we are thinking of are how to tie a shoe, putting shoes on the correct feet, parking lot safety, fire safety, going to the dentist, when to flush a toilet, going to the doctor, making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and many others. We want input of what is needed. Just let us know. Robin > > A few months ago I asked several of you for help. I needed to know what > three areas your child had the most trouble.
