Guest guest
I sent an e-mail this morning regarding the California tapings, but never saw it. Did anybody get it?? I'm going to cut and paste it into these e-mail, so if you did see it before, I apologize for the repetition. Susi ---------------------------------- Hey, everybody! I thought I'd try to give some play-by-play of how my trip was going. Thursday morning, I met what's-her name (), Elena, and and got to see again for the first time since September. They all are so wonderful and they all look great! and I went to 's studio to shop around a bit. I must admit, I got a bit carried away. I bought three t-shirts, one hat, and a Tae-Bo Junior tape for my girlfriend's daughter. I think I might even go back and spend some more money too. The nice thing is...the t-shirts are all the different ones we see on the videos, but can't order anywhere....hence my getting carried away. They had all kinds of stuff there....workout towels, tank tops, skimpy little bras that I couldn't even wear on my hand... When we were there, was teaching a class. She is incredible and she teaches class like a drill sargeant. I am so impressed with for taking her class the night before. WOW!!! While I was there, I was thinking... " maybe I'll try taking a class from here later in the week. " That was BEFORE I went through a taping. , , , and Elena all did the Advanced taping, so I had a little extra time to get nervous all by myself. I met some wonderful people waiting for the tapings and really enjoyed myself immensely getting to know them. Then the Advanced was over and out came the Fab Four...they were exhausted and weren't sure they could do the Basic taping next. Well, they did!! And they all did much better than I, who hadn't done a workout yet that day. They are all incredible. Inside the studio, it was HOT HOT HOT. They had most of the lights dimmed until we started taping, but that didn't matter at all. It was STILL super hot. Barb, you will need your most absorbant towel ever for drying off afterwards! I met RaeofSun from the Tae-Bo message boards, who was there with her roommate and her roommate's son. They were also very wonderful. Everybody was so warm and friendly. I got a chance to say hi to TQ before the taping started. She looks FABULOUS!! Shellie looks so beautiful, and I love her haircut (for those of you who saw QVC, you've seen it already). Jillian warmed us up while looked on, and then gave us a few pointers about kicking. I was so pumped when the workout started. Initially, I had TONS of energy. That didn't last long, though! LOL There were times when I wondered what the hell I was doing there. I sat and compared myself to everybody else, and it felt like I was walking it out a heck of a lot compared to everybody else. I guess I started to get a little down on myself. took us through the dreaded squat-front kick combo and i thought my legs were gonna melt. I was so happy to see them hold up the sign that said COOL DOWN. Until I found out that our cool down consisted of tons of balance moves! YIKES!!! Needless to say, I balanced real well on BOTH of my feet instead of just one. I wonder if anybody noticed? LOL At the end of the workout, was talking to the camera about saying positive things about yourself and others. It was sort of funny because TQ found me after the tapings and asked me how it went, and the first thing I said was " I suck. " I got a lecture about listening to what just said. It was a short lecture, but she made her point! LOL While I was doing the workout I was thinking maybe I shouldn't go back these next couple of days, but after it was over, I decided that I would use the next two tapings to challenge myself and just work on getting better and better each time. We met Tricia (RaeofSun) and company for dinner. (I feel bad because I never got her roommate's name, and I worked out right next to her!) It was Tricia's birthday, and it was great to celebrate it with her. didn't join us because she went to spend time with the MIL. Come to think of it, I haven't heard from her since...hmmmm, I wonder if she came out alive! We had a wonderful dinner at an Italian restaurant. Tricia's roommate really encouraged me. She said she was feeling exactly how I felt yesterday when she did her first taping on Tuesday, so that made me feel a little bit better. I hope today goes much better. I was exhausted, and after dinner, I went home and crashed. I have to say the best part of all of this is meeting everybody, whether they are people from online or people from California. It has made this trip all worthwhile. Working out with is always a pleasure, but maybe because I did that in Houston, it has lost a little bit of it's luster...I dunno. I'm off to try and find a pair of workout pants that match my new t-shirts! LOL Susi
