Guest guest
clonodine also comes in pill form.Elaine Clonidine comes as a patch. The patch is to last for 7 days. The patches did not work for us as Joe would pull the patch off, or the patch would come off in a bath etc... I find the liquid Catapris much more effective and controlled. I know medication is a very personal and private choice. For my son & I, the evening dose of Clonidine is a small miracle. Evenings are quiet and productive and bedtime and homework are a breeze. Guest guest
Hi, It would be very important to connect with a Speech Pathologist who specializes in Autism. Being non-verbal with no legitimate means of communicating can certainly lead to behaviors. Behaviors ARE communication. A speech output device may OR may not be the first avenue. But get someone on your team right now who can address this! Where are you located?Debby L. Guest guest
Did you asked him why? See, I am pushy when it comes to stuff like this. I (in a very big capital letter) live with her. I know my daughter. right now her neuro is mad at me..because her psych dr and i worked and worked and guess what. We found the key. She takes valium and the neuro is mad because it is an old med and it wasn't his idea. Both of which are stupid reasons in my book. I nicely let him know that. I didn't find a new neuro yet because when we get over 6 months to a year seizure free..and I pray that happens, I am taking back to him so he can see that I am not as stupid as he thinks I am. So there.HA.LOL!I would have done a trial of Zyprexa with the understanding that if that didn't work, we were going to clonidine. We have had issues with alot of those psychotic meds. What worked for our daughter was the benzo family of meds. She also has seizures. But right now she is on valium. It helped with behaviours and epilepsy. She is now 4 months seizure free with much, much,MUCH better behaviors. The other meds also caused psychotic side effects. We have been where you are. I understand((Hugs))With better behaviors and no seizures, 's language has really increased. Finding ways to communicate helps too. is now 18.Elaine Unfortunately, I called the neuropsych today and he refused the Clonodine. Guest guest
Our daughter, 12 yrs, has been taking 20 mg Clonidine around 7:30 pm and make her goes to bed around 9ish. Since then, a lot of of positive things happens. We are so happy. She doesn't have high blood pressure either, and her psychiatrist said it is very safe even for long term.___________________Sent from my iPhoneOn May 2, 2012, at 6:45 PM, & Elaine <forresters2@...> wrote: clonodine also comes in pill form.Elaine Clonidine comes as a patch.
