Kim,

Thank you for sharing your experience with me. Since it has taken a long

time for

my son to feel comfortable enough to share some of his thoughts with me, he

could easily be concealing compulsions in his head, like counting.

I was just reading this post and a few before -- that

were related -- and casually asked my 14 y/o if he

counts very much and then in what circumstance.

(He's normally very hard to get anything out of). He

said yeah he counts and when I asked another question

he gave me a little more detail.

Point ---- he seems to be opening up slowly as I just

occasionally ask questions in passing like I'm just

curious, and he's getting used to his dad and I

talking about some postings here as I go thru them

(120 today!) He seems to be getting used to the

subject and feeling he won't be so judged.
