I'm the mom of two girls, ages 5 and 1 1/2. The 5 yo is dx as autistic

(very high functioning) but I am confused by this labeling and frankly

what I see most, if I break it down, is OCD, ODD, SPD(SID), and

possibly ADD. OCD is very apparent in dh's family, as is bipolar, which

I am sure we will be keeping an eye out for. Dd is not on any meds,

though I have been considering it as an option to deal with her OCD

traits (extreme anxiety, perfectionism, perseverations) and maybe it

would help with the pallilalia(sp?) and echolalia, too...who knows? I

am not sure how I feel about meds, frankly. I hope to learn a lot from

this list, and from all of your experiences.
