Just received a diagnosis of gestational diabetes (GD) @ 30 weeks.

Did any of you receive a similar diagnosis while pregnant with your

twins? I'm wondering if there's a correlation between such a

diagnosis and an ultimate outcome of DS in one/both of the twins?

I had gestional diabetes when I was pregnant with my twins, Vinnie (DS) and

Sloan.

I dont think it has anything to do with DS. Most of the women I work with had

GD with their first. Is this your first pregnancy?

Wish I could help but unfortunately, I never made it

to 30 weeks (or even get the glucose testing done!).

Sorry, just re-living some memories of this night 4

years ago. I can't believe that my little dumplin's

were born at 26 weeks and are celebrating their 4th

birthday today.

Other than that, how's everything else going w/the

pregnancy? Well I hope.

Good luck and hope you get some answers.

I believe some people are more prone to pregnancy gestational diabetes

I had 2 pregnancies one single & one twin.......3 healthy live births & no gestational diabetes

My girlfriend on the other hand had 2 single pregnancies w/ 2 healthy live births & got it both times!!

no on the amnio, decided against it. Not worried per se, just wondering.

Thanks, Judi. Everything's going pretty well. Ended up in the hospital for

2 days this past week due to dehydration caused by the gestational diabetes,

which caused heavy bleeding and lots of Braxton-Hicks contractions. Now in

complete bedrest for the next 8 weeks. The twins are doing very well, both

weigh 3.9, so the efforts now are focused on keeping them " cooking " for the

duration.

second " full-term " pregnancy. I have a 12-year-old son, and had a

miscarriage about 4 years ago.
