Zinc Given While On Chelation

Listmates:

We are on a protocol which calls for stopping the extra

zinc while ON

chelation days. The first day of chelation this round

(Friday) I

inadvertently gave Joe his nighttime zinc of 40 mgs.

along with his

melatonin. I did not realize it until the following

morning. I try

to be so careful about his supplements! Anyway, we also

follow a

protocol which takes his urine toxic metals test the

second morning

of

chelation; thus the morning after giving him the zinc

we

took his

urine. My question

is

this.....will the DMSA bind most readily to the zinc

and

therefore

give us a false reading on the urine, since the drug

was

grabbing the

zinc instead of the other toxic metals? I don't want to

give the

false impression that his metals are going down if the

DMSA was just

too busy grabbing onto the zinc instead. What do you

all

think or

know about the reasons for not giving zinc while ON

chelation?

Thanks.

On the up side, I had reported that did

exceptionally well his

first week OFF chelation. Well, his second week OFF

chelation was a

difficult one with many of his " negative " behaviors

amplified.

We just started his third round ON chelation, and he is

having some

good verbal interchanges. Perhaps we are moving into

the

" good on,

poor off " pattern that others are seeing. Why would

this

have been

the opposite the first round?

Our first urine revealed elevated lead and mercury

(high

reference

range). Also, was putting mercury out on his

pre-chelation

urine! Pretty interesting.

Round One Urine

Lead 17 (ref. range 0-15)

Mercury 2.7 (ref. range 0-3)

Thanks for listening! Have a blessed holiday everyone.

I

have faith

that 2001 will be a pivitol year for our children!
