You know what really ticks me off is that kids hitting kids is such a common

occurrence with NDA kids (you're right Margaret). This reeks of prejudice

if you ask me. My oldest son once hit a kid in school. Granted, it's a

small, VERY small CAtholic school and we met with the principal. It was

never even suggested that he be suspended. I called the mom (of course I

knew her...not well as her son was in a different grade) to apologize and

know what she said???? " Oh please, I have no doubt deserved

it " ....her son had a rep as being an in your face bully and Joe was hit

first, but no teacher saw that part. Also, we had Joe call to

apologize and apologized too. They ended up being friends and

learned to change his tune. AND Duff told the principal (who we know well)

that because we are city people we have always taught our kids to defend

themselves but that we understand the school can't support violence and that

Joe and all our children are prepared to face the consequences of defending

themselves. Can you tell my hubby grew up in North Philly???? LOL

Charlyne, what's the update? Did you go to school with Zeb today?

Margaret, I'd forgotten about that police incident with Gareth!!

UNBELIEVABLE!!

Sara, I too LOVE the throw the lemons sometimes and have a stiff drink...TOO

funny And while Duff doesn't do the IEP's with me, HE'S the one who goes

to n's teachers for all meetings and he always went to the high school

ones (I handle Allie and Maddie). In MY mind, believe me, it's a very fair

trade off. n (17 and #3 in rank of 5) is a super smart kid (scored

in the 97 percentile on his PSAT's) but definitely has some major focus

issues (re: my ?'s about ritalin and adderall). He's a such a good kid (if

I may brag...and handsome too...I " m always told he looks like an Abercrombe

model...LOL) and is quite unique...beats proudly to his own drum. We have

our battles with teachers in supporting him in being himself and Duff handles

them brilliantly.

Hey, anybody else getting more snow? We're waiting on 6 inches. K, this

time, I REALLY am sick of it....LOL
