Guest guest
Wow another syndrome behavior at least for the boys!! Elie also would prefer being nude. But we also have a house rule of HOUSE CLOTHES> He is allowed to take off outside clothes and wear loose boxer type shorts (his are all crazy plaids or stripes or prints so that they look more like shorts than underwear) and loose old very soft t-shirts - many of which I get at the thrift store. But he finally understands that to go out of the house he must dress. But a sight to be seen is Elie nude, in his room, dancing to Grease!!!!And he is a very grown up, dark, hairy man!! Guest guest
We also have the " relaxed " clothing at home. Good idea of making them colorful. I guess they feel totally free of any restrictions. Afterall, they have been told what to do all of their lives... How did you teach this to your Elie? How old is he? Our son thinks that he needs to take his clothes off in public. Getting him from point A to B is becoming horrible. We have almost stopped going out all together. The school has also stopped taking him out until we can get him to understand he can't do this. Any suggestions, let me know. Judy ytribe@... Guest guest
Thanks for the advice. I am happy to correspond and talk and talk. It is so nice to finally have someone who has experienced some of the things I have. I feel so lost after so many years of working to make Kent's life something of meaning to him. I plan on sharing your thoughts with his program if I can get my printer to work, ha. I met a third cousin the other day and had lunch with her. She is 82 and had her laptop out with Emails going right and left. What a trip she was. She has been around in our family for years and I only found out about her recently. She is totally interested in Kent and I had no idea... Where was I? Totally absorbed I guess. Ditto on the space shuttle disaster. How sad for their families and our Nation during these trying times. I see Iraq had to say we were being punished. That too sure is a mess. If the people would only wake up and realize that that guy needs to go. They WILL have a better life afterwards. Thanks again and write anytime. Judy PS I need to go to some of these conferences. Over the last few years, I have stopped doing much of anything except working and trying to manage my 17 year old and Kent. As to my husband, he is supportive but reactive. I am 53, he is 63. I guess he is worn out, ha.

Guest guest
From the time Kent gets home until we dress to go back he wants to be in his underware only. He and his coat hanger that he shakes. It use to be a fisher price stethoscope but we now use a plastic hanger as well as CD player with headphones. The headphones need to be adjusted from time to time and he will bring then to you and say " fix please " . We adjust and he is off to listening. Kent knows every country singer's name in the business. If you give the first name he finishes it. If you give the last name he can give you the first name. He can read CD's but can't tell you when he hurts or is unhappy. This causes me the most frustration now that he is 27. I am feeling sorry for myself that I think I have failed somewere or missed something. I am still looking for answers and probably will for the rest of his or my life. Right now we are in a hard place with him in a facility during the week. I don't feel that the including the doctors know what to do with him. Everything is trial and error. Makes for a hard life. Guest guest
Hi Judy, Have you looked into the sensory stuff with an OT yet? I could be you in another few years too. Kent needs to live on a nice warm island so he can be in his shorts. I think I should go with him. Prayers for better days and answers. Charlyne Mom to Zeb 10 DS/OCD ?
